I've gotta hi-jack this thread for a moment...I have NEVER had a rougher time with Ticketbastard than I have in the last couple weeks trying to get tickets on line at Pre-Sale and at the exact moment of General Sale.

I had a pre-sale code for Steely Dan at the Beacon in NYC, went on the second it started, and COULD NOT GET 2 tickets at ANY PRICE!!! I could get 1 ticket, then even that wasn't possible. Same thing happened at the general on-sale 3 days later. And I had the same problem with Police at MSG (but I *get* how huge that gig is, sell-out wise).

Very frustrating...at least my consolation is that I've seen them umpteen times...

Out of curiousity, did you have problems with the word verification?
A couple of months ago they changed the program they use, and I've had a really hard time reading the characters. Not only does it slow me down, but I've typed the wrong sequence many times because it is just not clear.

I had SOME problems with the verification, but it wasn't slowing me down much.

I just don't see how you can't get 2 tix at 10:01am if the pre-sale starts at 10:00...

Well, here's how.
First, take away tix for radio stations, the press, giveaways and employees and the artists themselves.
Then take into account scalpers and hackers.
Add (in some cases) pre-sales and fan clubs, and just how many tickets are really available when 10:00 am hits?
Not many.
I tried to get Police tix for Philly with 2 different pre-sales (Best Buy and Comcast). I was logged on at 9:58 and couldn't even get on until 10:06! All gone by then.
My friends got tix and I ended up with one, but it was a joke!
We got out Sabbath pre-sale tix today and we're going for Genesis pre-sale tomorrow. With all of us trying, we'll get them, but otherwise, we'd have no shot in hell.
The system (and the prices) suck out loud, but as Pearl Jam learned, you can't fight it!

I had no luck with the Beacon Theater shows. I just couldn't get Ticketmaster to work. No tickets no matter how I phrased the question.

Presale, after the presale, nothing. No tickets found. Place must have been bought out by the scalpers.
