SAGA with over 20 albums to their credit released "20/20" in 2012.
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE with his upcoming "The 20/20 Experience"

plagiarism?
certainly not when it comes to musical art, talent, or... etc.
but you be the judge.

(somebody please upload the respective album artworks... and be amazed!)

Actually, if I recall George Benson had an album called 20/20 in 1985, so they're both plagiarists!

And, I do like both Saga and Timberlake (yes I said it). And-George Benson too!

there have probably been other albums titled "20/20,"
but with nearly identical artwork in less than a year's time?

at least when Frank Zappa did it, it was a spoof on The Beatles.

The Beach Boys beat all of 'em to that title.

In 1996, Carlene Carter released a compilation called "Hindsight 20/20".

Another small bit of irony: This is Timberlake's first album in 6 years, and that Saga album was the first with lead singer Michael Sadler in five years (they had a replacement vocalist for one album in the interim). I love the Saga album and I doubt I'll care about Timberlake's...although I always look forward to his appearances on SNL.

The comparison of the two covers is pretty funny. I'm a fan of both (and George Benson) (and the Beach Boys) (and Dilated Peoples) (and 20/20). But this thread reminds me of when Paul Young, Corey Hart and Bryan Adams came out with (respectively) Between Two Fires, Fields of Fire, and Into the Fire all around the same time, all featuring moody black-and-white cover portraiture (and all of which turned out to be speed bumps in their careers).

Peter Gabriel and Shania Twain both had albums titled Up in 2002, although the covers looked nothing the same.

Billy Ocean's "Loverboy" and Teen Marie's "Lovergirl" were both in the Top 10 at the same time in 1985.

And both songs are still totally awesome.

I think Hugh Downs and Baba Wawa should get in on the class action lawsuit...

The Blake Babies and The Go-Go's both released reunion albums called "God Bless the [band name]" in 2001. That was weird.
