[2012-06-04] The Flying Burrito Brothers "Close Up The Honky Tonks" (BGO UK)

BGO records will be issuing this, to date, unavailable compilation by the Flying Burrito Brothers on June 12, 2012. While there are numerous other musical sets available, this collection will include songs not found on other compilations. There is a Hillman/Roberts song called "Did You See", a Sneaky Pete instrumental called "Beat The Heat" and a live version of "Roll Over Beethoven" that has failed to be included on previous reissues of "Last Of The Red Hot Burritos". There are other songs with Gram Parsons that bear watching including a version of the Bee Gees "To Love Somebody".

Formed by Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman formerly of The Byrds
Their first album, 'Gilded Palace Of Sin', was released in 1969 with a second studio album coming in 1971, followed in 1972 by a live album and then they were gone!
The 'Close Up The Honky Tonks' compilation was a best-selling US Top 200 chart album as well as being a European success

Hi,

I ordered CLOSE UP THE HONKY TONKS a few weeks ago and the CD has not as yet been shipped.

It is still listed as not as yet released.

Any news?

I got a notice from Amazon that the new release date in October 12. HOWEVER, it has already been moved several times in the past so I am not holding my breath

I received an email today saying the the CD has been shipped.

Looking forward to getting it soon. I have the LP version which I use to listen to a lot before by record player broke down.
