Yay! Quote: Starting with May’s issue #107, Rucka and Brubaker will team up for the four-part arc, “Other People’s Problems,” which catches up with Matt Murdock (and Daredevil) who’s still dealing with the repercussions of his recent encounter with Mr. Fear. We spoke with Rucka about the gig, and getting back into this particular saddle (oh don’t worry, we’ve merely scratched the surface of the clichés…) http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=146898

Is this the good Brubaker (Cap) or the bad Brubaker (Young Avengers)?

I think Brubaker has been quite good on DD, although somewhat slow going so far. His Cap-less title seems better to me, even though DD is one of my all-time fav characters.
I would like to take this time to note that not since the mid to late 70s have I been consistently buying the DD, Cap, and Iron Man titles all at the same time.

The "bad" Brubaker is only represented by one issue, apparently, so it seems a bit harsh to make a big deal of it. So he had an off day - err, issue - big deal. His overall track record is still great. Even with Young Avengers, his other YA issue was great.

Daredevil is definitely the "good" Brubaker. He's more in his element with street level comics (even Captain America). The only stuff of his that hasn't worked for me is that Young Avengers comic and most of his X-Men work.

Yeah, chalk me up as a supporter of Bru's Daredevil. It may not reach the levels of his Cap run, but it's still quite excellent. He took the ball Bendis left and ran with it, but in his own style. It's been pretty solid stuff.

I have loved everything Brubaker does apart from his X book. Even that though is quite good when compared to many other X books.

So, is this worth getting?
Do I want to scoop up the trades on the cheap?
Jay, you're a Brubaker guy... yea or nay?

I was very impressed with this run, especially the prison storyline.
Tho I've never been able to fully accept Daredevil in foreign countries (or out West like in the 80s) for some reason. It just doesn't feel right.

He obviously means Ann Nocenti. Stop being deliberately obtuse.

More than any other property owned by DC or Marvel, Daredevil has attracted the best creators since inception. Like Batman, he strikes the right balance between street-level and superheroics. Batman is a close second, but because he is in multiple books, he has had at times sub-par creators who hurt his overall average.

Hmm.
I know you intended to give a definitive opinion, but you raise an interesting challenge... which Marvel or DC character has had the best creators throughout its run? Hurm.

Batman:
Jim Aparo Don Newton Irv Novick Neal Adams Carmine Infantino Gene Colan Marshall Rogers Michael Golden Frank Miller Dave Maazzucchheellii Alan Davis Greg Capullo Frank Quitely Jim Lee
That's pretty impressive. Who am I missing?

That's pretty impressive. Who am I missing? Dick Sprang Tim Sale I would also argue for Norm Breyfogle and Kelley Jones, but YMMV. A lot of great artists like Gil Kane, Matt Wagner, Paul Gulacy, and Klaus Janson illustrated arcs for Legends of the Dark Knight.
