I liked that one scene he wrote where Bartlett schooled the Ann Coulter-type lady on Biblical history.

KIWF.

I think the lady was meant to be more of a Dr. Laura type than a Coulter type. (Though there was an Ann Coulter stand-in on the show as well, but she was actually sympathetic.)

Anyway:

Here's a scene with the Coulter-like character.

Post any scene from series 1 or 2 with Josh and Donna, or CJ and anyone else, or Bartlett, or Toby...

BUT

Steven is dead right about the preaching, I'm afraid. And it's ruined it a bit for me. Like the scene where Bartlett talks about raining vengeance on others and Leo has to go on a rant about death penalty supporting people which has little or nothing to do with the scene.

DAMN YOU STEVEN CLUBB. DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL.

Although it's still a great programme.

I will say this, his preaching is much better done in West Wing then it was in Studio 60.

Even if I think they go a over-board whacking their Dr. Laura with a big stick, it's fun watching her get whacked by a big stick. Or watching Rob Lowe totally get owned by someone arguing against the ERA.

It got into its stride when it realised it was a strong ensemble drama and not a Rob Lowe vehicle, since he was about the worst thing in it.

I don't appreciate Aaron Sorkin at all. Wait, was he the guy who played Harvey Dent?

Social Network was pretty good.

Well, maybe it was meant to be more of a fakeout. It seems like she's going to be an Ann Coulter avatar for Sorkin to beat around the head, but she turns out to be something different.
