Mix and match from whatever talents you like... myself?

Story-Telling / Layouts: Jack Kirby (Frank Miller was the runner-up here)

Faces / Expressions: John Romita SR. (80s Byrne almost took this one...)

    Figurework / Anatomy: Alan Davis

    Inking / Rendering: Frank Cho

    Design: Dave Cockrum

I promise that I'm not trolling for a fight, but...

have you ever seen a face, Hanzo?

I know, your taste is about 1,000 times better than everyone else's, you're the only one who can be objective about the New 52, you know moree about comic art than any of us, blah blah blah.

Got it, thanks.

The only anatomy tick that Davis has that bugs me sometime is how when he is drawing an open hand, the middle finger and ring finger stay together, something that is difficult to do in reality.
This in no way disqualifies him for this category. He would probably get my vote as well. He always supplies the perfect amount of rendering - enough to give his characters mass, but not so much to make them distracting.

I have never said my taste is better.

I never said that I am the only one objective about the New 52. I just said that one should at least read them before being critical of them.

I have never said that I know more about comic art than anyone. I merely defended myself after YOU said that I didn't understand inking because I was critical of Klaus Janson.

I do nothing on this site that others do or don't do and for some reason you want to fight and fight and fight.

Lighten the fuck up.

Figures: A hybrid of JR Jr., Alan Davis and Steve Rude, I think (Ruditis?)

Backgrounds: Byrne. There are probably better out there, but he's the one I'm most familiar with.

Byrne's use of perspective is pretty awesome, no doubt. If personality wasn't a factor, I'd love to learn a lot of the technical aspects of drawing from him.

And to figures, I like the proportions of 80s John Byrne, that thick, powerful physique... but I like the naturalism of Alan Davis or Steve Rude when it comes to posing a figure.

Byrne has that nifty table tool, the name of which escapes me. The one with the rotating arms and stuff. Those things are pretty expensive, though.

Yeah, they're usually used by architects. If I were going to try to be a professional, it would be a must.

Now, it would be like my lightbox -- something that collects dust and is only used once every blue moon.

Steve Ditko to pencil, Wally Wood to ink figures, Alex Toth to spot blacks, Dave Sim to letter and Gerhard to handle background details.

Oh, I forgot to add one:

Animals: Joe Kubert or Mike Mignola
