Tony will create a physical form for Jarvis to inhabit. Jarvis will be the new Vision.

You heard it here first.

Also, the next update on the Captain America uniform will be sans cowl.

Anyway, I think back to Avengers Annual #2, where we had the "original" Avengers

other group of Avengers. That'd be great, and you could please a lot of Avengers fans
by having two teams with a lot of variation, but also some sameness.

That would be great but I don't know how they'd set that up. It might be confusing to folks who don't have a comic book background. I'm thinking if they do use

next we'd probably get an intro to Capt. Marvel or maybe Adam Warlock (could be a better bet since they might not want two Captains running around) and he would be the one who dies providing the mentioned tragedy. Also, if it's Warlock, he could resurrect himself at the end. I would set it up as the new hero in question being an escaped prisoner of the Big Bad that escapes to Earth for protection/help.

Any new Avengers will probably be introduced in the separate movies leading up to the sequel. But I don't think we really need any new Avengers.

It would be a dream come true for me if the movies ended up resurrecting interest in the classic Warlock by Jim Starlin.

Really, that movie almost writes itself. Warlock has the soul gem which is needed to complete the Infinity Gauntlet. Is chased to Earth and the fun begins.

Lots of folks automatically think that Thanos means Mar-vell, and Warlock and all things Starlin but I tend to think that they'll stick with getting more of the core Avengers in there. Ultron will certainly be the villain for one of these 3 films which should mean we'll see Hank, Jan and the Vision as well.

They're really smart for setting things up in a way that rewards the viewer for following all the movies, but actually doesn't require that level of attention at all.

Civilians are getting a taste of what it's like to step into a world that has a rich background, but has been dumbed down for them to have an enjoyable experience as a noobie. This is what comic books were like when I was a kid. They drew upon it, making it interesting, but they pulled it off well for new readers.

I thought Loki's Gem in the staff could be an "infinity gem" Thus making an easier bridge to the gauntlet.

I agree. If I was Marvel, I'd be looking at Earthcentric superheroes that have powers that translate well to the screen (a la Iron Man). Giant-Man would translate well visually, and the audiences went ape-shit over "Hulk Smash". The Vision's powers are unique to the team, and would lend to great visual effects. Wasp would work if we get a lot of shots from a wasp's-eye-view, but would tough to incorporate into group action scenes.

I don't see any other classic Avengers getting in there, and the Bronze and Modern Age members are too unknown to make the cut (I'd think).

I wouldn't mind a storyline that had Hank as the Stark team member responsible for Jarvis, and his introduction coming in as he introduces his creation, The Vision, to audiences.

Can you imagine what would have happened if Avengers had underperformed like John Carter......Disney would have been in a lot of trouble

My nerd appetite wants more characters. But I think they need to really go easy on that -- the audience loves these characters, and wants to see more. I vote only one new good guy for the next one. And also, as much as I love Pym, I think he's out -- there's no more room for another genius who makes himself powerful with technology. I think Ultron is going to have to come out of SHIELD and Stark technology.

In fact, a good idea has occurred to me -- "Fury, you never gave us the full story on what Phase II was going to be!!"

Turns out that they were going to use the Tesseract research to power a robotic protector along the lines of the Terminator from Thor, and that project goes awry to become Ultron.

Or Jarvis is hit with some infinity gem power becomes sentient and goes crazy. End credit scene he puts himself in an iron man suit and revealed Ultron

If what Whedon is saying is true (that he wants to make the next Avengers movie smaller), then it sounds like Thanos is being set up for the Thor sequel.

There has been long, on-going chatter about an Ant Man movie by Edgar Wright.

Quote:
Edgar Wright plans to direct an action film for Marvel Studios with some humorous elements, insisting that Ant-Man will not be a comedy like Fantastic Four or a spoof. The script has been written by Wright and Joe Cornish, who plan to include Henry Pym and Scott Lang as major characters, with Pym as Ant-Man in the 1960s in Tales to Astonish style, and a flashforward to Lang as Ant-Man's successor in modern day

On February 9, 2010 Stan Lee, the co-creator of Ant-Man, met with Wright for lunch, and Lee soon recounted the meeting on his Twitter feed: "To make up for my previous grievous error, here's a little item that may have escaped you. Marvel is prepping a movie starring-- Ant Man!" Lee continued in a further tweet, "I had lunch with the cool, young director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) and, as you'd imagine, we had fun discussing the tiny hero."

At the San Diego Comic Con in 2010, Wright confirmed that his script is an origin story, and that doesn't work for Marvel's chronology to include Ant-Man in The Avengers.[19] Wright stated in January 2011 that he resumed writing the script for the film.[20] During a Q and A at SXSW for Cornish's movie Attack the Block, Wright and Cornish stated that they had been recently rewriting the script.[21] While attending Kapow-Con in April 2011, Cornish revealed that Wright and he had delivered the second draft to the studio.[22] Then on July 2011 Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish delivered a third draft and some concept art to Marvel Studios.[23]

Kevin Feige confirmed that Henry Pym is referred to in the film Thor as the friend that Dr. Selvig e-mails that had previous "experience" with SHIELD, though his name was cut out of the scene.

So, I hope they give us an Ant-Man movie, as described, and perhaps by the next Avengers movie, he is in it with his Giant Man personae.

That would be a cool reveal, if the public knew about Ant-man from his movie, and he's established as in the Avengers world. And then in the next Avengers movie he makes a surprise rescue appearance as Giant Man -- and says "I figured out how to put it in reverse!"

Was never going to happen.

It's a bit of a miracle that it had good writing, as they could have tossed just about anything up on the screen and been successful, so long as enough shit blew up and Iron Man was properly funny.

The gamble was a few years back, when they committed themselves to three non-Iron Man films featuring two completely untested characters.

Not sure about Ant-Man being "The Second Avenger"... running around by himself in the 60's.

The one way I think Pym still works as yet another genius is if they take the approach of playing up his insecurity. He's in a room with Bruce Banner and Tony Stark, feels outshined by both of them, so his work is all over the place (cybernetics AND bio-chemistry) and in some ways derivative of both. That plays into Ant-Man becoming Giant Man as well as building Ultron.

I think there was a recent Avengers miniseries that did something like that, and Ultimates played with it, too. It also puts him in something of the Hawkeye role in the second film, by making him a de facto threat to the team.
