Anyway, I think back to Avengers Annual #2, where we had the "original" Avengers
of Earth-689 fighting the then current team. I think that would be a fun way to introduce
Hank Pym. Have Kang (Scarlet Centurion) bring one group of Avengers to fight the
other group of Avengers. That'd be great, and you could please a lot of Avengers fans
by having two teams with a lot of variation, but also some sameness.

It would be a dream come true for me if the movies ended up resurrecting interest in the classic Warlock by Jim Starlin.

Lots of folks automatically think that Thanos means Mar-vell, and Warlock and all things Starlin but I tend to think that they'll stick with getting more of the core Avengers in there. Ultron will certainly be the villain for one of these 3 films which should mean we'll see Hank, Jan and the Vision as well.

Edgar Wright plans to direct an action film for Marvel Studios with some humorous elements, insisting that Ant-Man will not be a comedy like Fantastic Four or a spoof. The script has been written by Wright and Joe Cornish, who plan to include Henry Pym and Scott Lang as major characters, with Pym as Ant-Man in the 1960s in Tales to Astonish style, and a flashforward to Lang as Ant-Man's successor in modern day

On February 9, 2010 Stan Lee, the co-creator of Ant-Man, met with Wright for lunch, and Lee soon recounted the meeting on his Twitter feed: "To make up for my previous grievous error, here's a little item that may have escaped you. Marvel is prepping a movie starring-- Ant Man!" Lee continued in a further tweet, "I had lunch with the cool, young director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) and, as you'd imagine, we had fun discussing the tiny hero."

At the San Diego Comic Con in 2010, Wright confirmed that his script is an origin story, and that doesn't work for Marvel's chronology to include Ant-Man in The Avengers.[19] Wright stated in January 2011 that he resumed writing the script for the film.[20] During a Q and A at SXSW for Cornish's movie Attack the Block, Wright and Cornish stated that they had been recently rewriting the script.[21] While attending Kapow-Con in April 2011, Cornish revealed that Wright and he had delivered the second draft to the studio.[22] Then on July 2011 Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish delivered a third draft and some concept art to Marvel Studios.[23]

Kevin Feige confirmed that Henry Pym is referred to in the film Thor as the friend that Dr. Selvig e-mails that had previous "experience" with SHIELD, though his name was cut out of the scene.

Can you imagine what would have happened if Avengers had underperformed like John Carter......Disney would have been in a lot of trouble

My nerd appetite wants more characters. But I think they need to really go easy on that -- the audience loves these characters, and wants to see more. I vote only one new good guy for the next one. And also, as much as I love Pym, I think he's out -- there's no more room for another genius who makes himself powerful with technology. I think Ultron is going to have to come out of SHIELD and Stark technology.

In fact, a good idea has occurred to me -- "Fury, you never gave us the full story on what Phase II was going to be!!"

Turns out that they were going to use the Tesseract research to power a robotic protector along the lines of the Terminator from Thor, and that project goes awry to become Ultron.
