:ohyes:

You know my motto: when it comes to music, I like everything. I even like stuff I don't like.

I knew Gnarls Barkley.I certainly like Green more than I like Levine or Shelton- and Aguilera, for that matter.
Leaving aside the auto -tune, would you say , Geff, that Darlene Love & Ronnie Spector were the producers puppets? They sure made a lot of great records anyway.
So did the Motown "factory". I 'm not comparing today's top 40 to those guys, but there are many different ways to make great records.

Not only do I like stuff I don't like, I even don't like stuff I like.

Like I've said before I only buy stuff I will play in my home so I'm a Kid Rock free zone for instance. I like Gnarls Barkley so yes, I do own that big album from 2006! (Has it really been that long ago????) Holy crap time is flying by. :(

You have a certain point on the Motown, but at least there a requirement was rthat one be a strong singer. Today, it really doesn't matter. Autotune is used in almost all top 40 (I suspect Aguilera & Adele would be 2 exceptions).

I had no idea who he was until the Buddy Holly tribute CD. His may be my favorite track on the album!

P.S. This says much about me than it does about him.

I think Cee-Lo is an exception to the auto-tone madness and actually has a very strong singing voice.

I like him, not his 7-Up commercial so much but he seems like a very talented fella.
