The one that comes with standard Android tablets is pretty good. It's just Gmail.

Gmail works great. I would just use that.
If you're talking about secure enterprise server email, then Good is what everybody uses.

Today the HTC One X was on sale for $50 off, making it just $50 more than the One S...so I bought it. It's the international GSM version (unlocked), not the US AT&T one, so I get the Tegra 3 quad core instead of the Krait dual core US customers got. Also ordered the car dock, a slip case to carry the phone in, and a desktop dock for the house. I didn't buy the little 3.5mm bluetooth thing just yet, because at $80 I think it's terribly overpriced. But yeah, my new phone will be to me next week!

That is awesome. I'll be anxious to see how the Sense UI compares to stock ICS.

Well, substitute next month for next week up there. Since they ship all together or charge extra for shipping individual parts of the order, I have to wait until everything is available. The desktop dock thing isn't out until mid-May.

And, order canceled. Apparently the phone only works at EDGE speeds on my carriers network, and would be utterly useless to me. I've emailed my carrier to be certain, because information online is VERY conflicting, to say the least, and even more confusing. But to be on the safe side, order is killed. Fucking standards...or lack of! There should be compatibility across carriers with all these unlocked phones, as long as they're GSM. Verizon is another story with their CDMA network, but GSM should just be...GSM.

You know unlocked Galaxy Nexus went on sale a few days ago -- direct from the Google Play store.

That's what I'm saying! I was just excluding Verizon/Sprint because they use totally different technology. But yes, your way is the way I would do it.

When you change cable providers, you don't have to buy a new tv, when I change phone companies I dont have to buy a new home phone, when I change internet providers I don't need to buy new computers but somehow, with cell phones, we've accepted the current state.

YouTube is working nicely since the last Chrome for Android update. Shows embedded videos and goes right to the YouTube app to play them.

I think they just programmed around it. Adobe will not put out an authorized plugin, so they just programmed Chrome to call the YouTube app.

It was Adobe's choice, but we've been around about this before.

No matter what Apple releases, it's exactly what Steve Jobs would have done. That link seems to fly in the face of the stated wisdom of Steve Jobs that said he flatly rejected any phone screen bigger than 3.5".
