Yeah, that really was lame then. Not sure who wrote that ep but it will probably not be going in my favorites.

Sitting down to watch the new episode... oh god, Betty is even more boring than I remembered.

Still can't believe that they gave her lines in that X-Men movie.

Sophia Myles as Emma would have been such a better casting move in XMFC.

Anyone watch last night's ep? Folks on the local TV forum are saying it was the best episode in a year or so. My wife was upset that I was pulling for Pete. I just hated seeing the grimy little pimp get pushed around the entire episode. Plus! Ken is writing Sci-Fi! (I predicted the genre as soon as he said he was being published on a regular basis.) And Don does his Superman thing!

I thought it was going to be Romance, personally. Roger came off like some kind of sage, advertising guru in this one. Not much of a surprise once I found out who directed the episode.

It was pretty fair and balanced though. He was a saint giving advice to Lane and then a real prick to Ken about quitting his writing.
My only wish is that Lane would have kicked Pete in the head a few times when he was down. Pete's become the slimiest jerk in the joint. And *that's* quite an accomplishment!

I think Don would have had him if he wasn't blind stinking drunk. Plus, his name was Duck. Evasive fellow.
Pete got his ass kicked soundly by the guy he just basically referred to as a useless homo. Next week, ball-less Bert Cooper throws him through a plate glass window.

The show still seems dull to me, though. Frank was right on target, IMO. My feelings exactly, after 5 or so episodes. Does it pick up at all, or is this it? If I don't find anything grabbing me by now, should I stop bothering? I'm enjoying the little things that remind you it's the early 60s, like all the smoking, the attitudes toward safety and child care, etc...but that's really not enough to keep me coming back. Neither is Christina Hendricks, despite her...appeals.

There are simply great moments, arcs, etc., with this show. The writing is great and the character evolution is sublime.

I think I dropped out of watching the show around the time that Don headed out to California in Season 2 (I thought the show was going to take a turn towards the California story, which bored me). Then Season 3 started to kick ass and I got drawn back into it. Season 3 was so great, I went back and streamed the first three seasons and watched it again from the start.

Anyone catch Kiernan Shipka on DON'T TRUST THE BITCH IN APT. 23.
She was in a body switching movie with James Van Der Beek that got shut down the moment they all realized how creepy that really was.

I tried. I really, really tried. It is about advertising [a subject near and dear to my heart]. It is set in the 60s [the era in which I was born]. Anne Dudek (whom I have had a jones for since her turns on House) was on it. Christina Hendricks, a woman built the way women are supposed to be built, is on it. But it just didn't click with me. I gave it four episodes last year and it just didn't catch. It should have. I feel about this the way I felt about the show She Spies. I should have loved it, but I just didn't.
