Product Description
In a legendary performance, three-time Academy Award® winner Jack Nicholson stars as private eye Jake Gittes. Hired by a mysterious woman to investigate Hollis Mulwray, the chief engineer of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Gittes’ sleuthing brings him into contact with Mulwray’s wife (Academy Award® winner Faye Dunaway), a stunning socialite with secrets of her own. As a determined Gittes delves deeper he soon realizes that even the City of Angels has a dark side. Director Roman Polanski’s Chinatown has evolved from an atmospheric film noir mystery into a modern day classic, with Robert Towne’s Academy Award®-winning script unforgettably and brilliantly capturing a lost era of deceit, corruption and treachery.

Special Features
  • Commentary with Robert Towne and David Fincher
  • Three-part Water and Power documentary with Robert Towne:
    • The Aqueduct
    • The Aftermath
    • The River & Beyond
  • Chinatown: An Appreciation retrospective with filmmakers Steven Soderbergh, James Newton Howard, Kimberly Peirce, and Roger Deakins

For me, one of the best movies of all-time. The previous edition did an excellent job on the print so this should be excellent. The only sad thing is their is nothing new as a bonus. I would love to have an isolated Jerry Goldsmith score for example. Oh well, the next verson might.

Agree just fantastic! I have the movie poster on a wall in my TV room (along with Casablanca). :)

Isn't the Towne/Fincher commentary a Blu-ray exclusive?

I just checked, and the commentary is on the old Centennial Collection DVD. You have to go under Setup menu-->Languages to find it.
