There are ten "Discovery" boxes on Ebay with atttractive low prices, all from different vendors, with all vendors located in China. Low prices range from $49.99 to $129.99, with most prices starting at $59.99. As with the counterfeit Beatles boxes, my guess they'll start turning up from American and Canadian vendors soon.

It used to be that the day to buy these big box sets was on the day of release, as far as retailers offering a discount that might never be seen again. (Didn't Target sell the Nirvana box for less than wholesale?) I think those days are over...Amazon is listing the Beatles mono box right now for $127.97.

Thanks for the warning. I'm still waiting to pick up the Suzanne Vega V.3 remakes; as all the reasonably priced ones are also from China.

Recently bought a dvd on ebay that was suppsed to be German. It's Chinese, & in addition to being scratched to S#$t, the packaging says "dual layer dvd9" & in reality it was compressed to fit on a single layer "dvd5".

I think the seller knew it, as he threw in a 2nd dvd for free that I can sell for more than I paid for the bootlegged fake German one.

Still didn't get the Wall immersion set (because of no 5.1). Does the sound improve on all the other previous releases? Still love the original MFSL version.

When I was in China late last year I started to see some of those Immersion & other Floyd CDs for sale. I ran a mile from them. The quality is never the same, I have brought a few movies and have never been happy with sound quality and picture. I will stick with originals all the way.

OK, why, oh why, does it appear the "Why Pink Floyd?" reissue campaign is over when an expanded ANIMALS has yet to see the light of day? The bonus discs need to be a complete '77 concert as well as a 5.1 mix. Can you imagine those dogs howling at you from different directions?

The first time I heard Animals, I thought dogs were really barking outside. Then it dawned on me that there were no dogs in the neighborhood.

I received the replacement disc for my scuffed up Disc Four in the DSOTM set today. Sent the e-mail request on Feb 20th, so it took them roughly four and a half weeks to deliver the replacement. Not terrible.

Came in a white cardboard sleeve, removed the disc and it looked like it was full of marks. Tried to wipe it and the marks turned out to be some substance which just smeared all over the surface. Put it under the faucet and ran water over it and wiped it dry and the surface now looks good, no notable scratches or scuffs.

But get a load of this. EMI stuck a generic $1.64 postage label which was short, so I have to drop 31 cents in my mailbox to compensate the wonderful mailman I've been blessed with. I probably should be annoyed by this but for some reason I find it so funny that they botched this this as well. The laugh was worth the 31 cents.

Maybe that's why I never got any replacement discs after waiting over 3 months, cheap on postage.

I had 2 issues of Rolling Stone mag arrive together today, despite being dated 2 weeks apart. The USPS is really going downhill.

I have never heard a good version of The Wall so I'm curious if the Immersion version is any better to my ears, I doubt it. I think the original master tape must be bad, hence, no 5.1. I have the Japanese mini-lp version of it and even that isn't an improvement. I had the MFSL version and sold it because it sounded no different than the original release to me, which is dull.

That's because they were passing it around the break room. Happens all the time with my wife's In Touch©, especially if there's a Kardashian on the cover.

Interestingly the late issue was in a plastic bag with a note from RS DEMANDING payment. My sub is paid through April of 2013, & was paid last year.

Why do you pay for that rag? They're constantly giving away promo subscriptions to get their numbers up.
