Honestly, unless it is a story about Superman filing a joint tax return there is very little you can't do with a married Superman that you can with a single Superman. Live-in girlfriend Lois Lane would provide the same stories as wife Lois Lane and you wouldn't need a divorce to break them up.
And part of the traditional fun of Superman is gone with a married Superman. It's just one more step to making him a generic dad type dude with superpowers. I'm glad they got rid of it.
Decades back, the Earth 2 Superman had an ongoing series in Superman Family called "Mr. & Mrs. Superman". Clark Kent was editor of the Daily Planet and married to Lois. It was my favorite feature in Superman Family.
But I still like the Lois-Clark-Superman love triangle best.
