You double dipped, eh? Bought the experience edition and now the immersion box.

Pink Floyd's accountant thanks you.

I don't know if this has been asked already but I really don't have the time to go through all the pages right now . Amazon is listing the Wall Experience version as 4 disc's , retail outlets (WalMart , Best Buy) is listing it as 3 cd's . Is the 4 cd version an Amazon exclusive or is one of them wrong ?

I posed this question on the other forum, and everyone assured me that it really was 3 CDs. I was going to buy it from a local Indie, but decided to order from Amazon. The good news was that for a little while on Sunday the price dropped to $21, so I saved about ten bucks. The bad news was that this is, indeed, a three CD set. BTW the third CD, "In progress" is really very good and could stand alone as an album in my opinion. The remastered Wall was done as well as the others in the series (very good).

This afternoon I received the "Replacement discs will be issued" e-mail reply from EMI for the scuffed DSOTM disc in my Immersion set. Looks like they are still making good on getting people replacement copies.

Looks like from this thread there will be a bunch of people getting this set from Amazon in the coming days. If so, here are some tips I picked up from a different board (a Pink Floyd board) as to how to request replacements from EMI.

Send e-mail to:
emiconsumer@emicapitol.com

Use this in the subject line:
Dark Side of the Moon - Disc replacement request

Use this format in the text:
Name :
Amazon Order # :
Address :
Specified Discs Requiring Replacement :

Include a scan of the receipt received with the shipment.

I also got an email from EMI about replacing my DSOTM discs about 3 months ago, I sent them the amazon invoices and have never been sent a thing despite contacting them via email several times.
I gave up hoping EMI would replace anything.

Now it's $71.32.

Now it's $62.99, I couldn't take it anymore, I broke down and ordered it.

Received it today, amazon has been really fast with their free shipping items, I just ordered it 3 days ago.

None at the Costco near me, but they don't all seem to have the same inventory so YMMV.

I want the Wall Immerson box, but having seen how low the other two sets have gotten in price, I'm disinclined to pay over $100 for it.

Ran into a Costco today--nothing. In fact, for a store that sells pretty much everything, their CD selection was fairly negligible--the newest discs by Lady Gaga, Van Halen, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, the Beatles "1", and a Whitney Houston best-of. It made Best Buy look like a Virgin Megastore.

Why waste the space when you can fill it with some multi-pack consumer item that a crazy housewife is going to snatch up?

CDs are pretty small potatoes these days - my Costco didn't even have the Van Halen last time I was there.

I was mere seconds from pulling the trigger on the complete Floyd box on eBay yesterday when a friend phoned and snapped me out of it. It was of dubious origin (China somewhere) and would take nearly a month to ship. It looked like it was going to sell for about $80 however.

I saw references to a 4 CD version on the Hoffman board as well as a couple other Floyd boards. Amazon (USA) briefly had the experience edition listed as a 4 CD set with the 4th disc being 8 demo tracks as you've listed. However, a few (as in only 3 or 4) people ordered it and only received the standard 3 CD version.

So who knows? But up until now I haven't seen anybody on a board claim they have a 4 CD experience version (but it obviously could still exist). At first I just figured that Amazon screwed up the listing, but this ebay copy has me interested. IP, do you have a link to the old ebay listing? Just interested to see if they have a scan of the back cover that lists 4 discs and a full track listing.

Ah-I went back and looked and the seller ended the item-most likely because it was bogus or he thought he had the 4 CD version and didn't.
My guess is there is NO 4 CD version after all.

I'm trying to track down the marbles from the Wish You Were Here Immersion set. Haven't been able to find them on ebay. If anybody here bought the set and doesn't want the marbles, I'd be interested in buying them. Feel free to PM me.

Thanks!

So Amazon now has The Wall listed for $107.88. What do you think the chances are of the price dropping further? Anyone know if it's listed elsewhere for a better price? Maybe I should just go for it.

I waited until I saw a sub $75 pricetag on the DSOTM set, and am going to take a similar strategy with the other two sets. Maybe bend a little and go to $80. I just don't see these sets being limited enough (like The Who Live At Leeds set was) and it seems all boxed sets like this eventually have a major price reduction if you just want to wait it out. If it doesn't happen I can live without them. I'll just pick up the experince edition of Wish You Were Here and frankly I can live without the two demo discs for The Wall if that's what it comes down too.

As a side note, I jumped on the Discovery box when it hit $150. I see Amazon currently has it for $168 which surprises me. Figured that one would be down around $120 after it got a few weeks past the Christmas season.
