Gloria

If you never voted on any of these yet, do a quick search find them.

....and of course, IM me with any other song suggestions.

The only versions I can remember are Nazareth (which I like) & some 50's or early 60's that I don't like.

I despise this song but Nazareth did the best version I've heard. Triumph (in the brief post-Rik Emmett era) did a horrendous version in the 90's.
I saw Heart play this live, but I don't remember it being issued.

I voted for Joan Jett, although she basically copped the Nazareth arrangement straight up.

I like Joan Jett.

I went with the Gram Parsons/Emmylou Harris version, mostly because of Harris's achingly beautiful vocal.

I voted for Capaldi's. I know doing the song upbeat was quite a change, but it worked for me.
I like the Parsons/Harris and Everly Brothers as well. I don't care for Nazareth's at all.

I voted for the man with the VOICE...

He could sing the telephone book and make it listenable

There's a live version on The Road Home.

I voted for The Everly's. Great harmonies and a classic sound.

Gram's & EmmyLou's rendition is a close second.

The Nazareth version is probably the most well-known (you gotta love that two-note guitar solo  )

Not one of my favorite songs in any version but I prefer the Everly's kinder, gentler take on it to Nazareth's overwrought (and overplayed) cover.

Nazareth's "Love Hurts" is literally one of those songs I could listen to every single day. Loved it since the minute I first heard it.

The word "overwrought" was invented specifically to describe how the Nazareth dude sings on this track. The Everlys' version is also the winner for me.
