Only 1 new entry into the British Top 10 for Dec 22, 1965, but I'll throw in 3 bonus videos.
7. The Walker Brothers – My Ship Is Coming In, peaked at #4 in Jan 1966, 6 wks total in the Top 10 Their 2nd of 3 massive hits, couldn't find a live version at YouTube. We're just 3 months away from their biggest hit...

The episode of Doctor Who I just watched had a snarky comment about Cliff Richard.

2 songs new to the British Top 10 on Dec 29, 1965: 4. The Spencer Davis Group – Keep On Running, peaked at #1 for 2 wks in Jan 1966, 7 wks in the Top 10. Featuring 17 year old Stevie Winwood, love that driving bass by older brother Muff (future record producer of Dire Straits). This was the first of their 4 Top 10’s, this live clip is from Beat Club: Another live clip from Beat Beat Beat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyuNpjNDLXM

10. The Barron Knights – Merry Gentle Pops, peaked at #7 in Jan 1966, 2 wks in the Top 10. Couldn’t find a video of this song. They started out as a legitimate pop band, then started impersonating other bands, doing parodies of current hits and weaving them into a storyline. This record was a Christmas story, as they parodied the hits of the day from Donovan, Marianne Faithfull, The Rolling Stones, The Hollies, The Ivy League, and Peter Cook & Dudley Moore.
Here’s what they looked like, doing a Christmas parody of 1964 songs, a pretty good impersonation of Jimmy Saville about half way through…

3 hits new to the British Top 10 on Jan 12, 1966, + 1 bonus: 6. The Four Seasons – Let’s Hang On, peaked at #6 in Jan 66, 4 wks in the Top 10. “That little chicklet diamond on your hand…” The only live video is a 30 second clip from Ed Sullivan. Hard to find a decent clip with good audio and video: Here’s the 30 second Ed clip, for what it’s worth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GEzSQOhS40
