I'm going for the Lovin' Spoonful 45. This will be my very first RSD.

went to amoeba music in berkeley. about 50 people were waiting outside, and once in, there was a friendly crush to the new vinyl bins. seemed like everyone got what they wanted-- they had a great selection of all of the titles. i picked up the dr, dog 7", the wilco and pete townshend 10", and the brendan benson and tom petty 12" titles. listening to the petty (kiss my amps) right now-- sounds great.

happy record store day to everyone--

jeff

Jeff, could you please post the tracklist for the Tom Petty release?

I'm wondering if it's different from the download of the Mojo tour, which was free with the purchase of a concert ticket (an expanded version was also available to fan club members)

Anyone here try downloading the Tom Petty "Kiss My Amps" tracks? I can't seem to access the web site. I'll try later, but wondered if the little card they included with the album had the wrong path.

Petty's already sold out at my indie, & he told me it was $22 + 9.3% tax. I DON'T THINK SO. I had something more like $10 with tax in mind.

All I know is, I got my Spoonful 45. It has a yellow Kama Sutra label, just like the original US singles.

I even played it

Even though I'm on 1st name basis with the local indie dealer, I think he tends to um.............. go for a high profit margin. Wish I could get away with that!

I was also interested in the Janis Joplin singles box, but the store I visited did not get any copies delivered to them; they thought it might arrive on Monday. However, the fact that the box can also be purchased from the official Joplin website (along with an LP box) indicates that although it was part of yesterday's event, it was not exclusive to that event.

The only thing for me from this batch was the Crowded House. Decatur CD still had lots of leftovers (no Petty, though) Thursday evening.

Good for you. Here, only one copy was shipped to my indies and they were gone immediately.

Among other things, picked up the Miles Davis Quartet 10". Opened it up and saw a beautiful dark blue/purple record... which was scratched.

Took it back to the store for a new one. None left. Owner said they ordered three, but only got two. What. Exchanged it, put credit toward overpriced Iron and Wine radio session ($20 and not even a cover... WTF, WB?)

Check eBay. They're going for quite a bit more than the $10 I paid. Ugh.

So if anyone sees this one for a not terrible price, please let me know.

(Don't even know why I'm so interested. It's just the 10" version of what became the 12" Blue Haze, which is readily available.)

Bannings: If you're not nice
Now that the next Record Store Day has come and gone, it's time to retire this thread. To finish it, here are all the RSD Black Friday 2011 releases which we'd been tracking at Amazon on our Here And Gone board -- if you missed any back in November at the walk-in stores, nearly all are still available as collectibles through Amazon's third party sellers:
