On October 31st, EMI/UK will be releasing "Deep Purple-The BBC Sessions 1968-1970", a 2-CD set featuring all of the surviving BBC studio sessions by the "Mark 1" & "Mark 2" Deep Purple line-ups. The set features 7 previously unreleased tracks, and also reissues all of the BBC tracks originally offered on the deleted 6-CD box set "Listen,Learn, Read On".
(There will also be a costly 2-L.P. & 2-CD + 12" x 12" booklet version, but it will not contain any exclusive material.)

I didn't do a side to side song check with my Listen Learn boxset but it looks like the unreleased stuff is all from the Mk 1 line up . I will pass on it . If it was unreleased Mk 2 , well then I would be all over this .

That's odd, because many of the BBC Mark 2 selections are embryonic versions which predate the recording of the EMI/Warner Bros. studio versions, and they have significant lyric and arrangement differences.

I don't care for the Mark I era and early versions of In Rock tracks don't interest me enough at all. Just not for me.
