But to be fair, ignoring the silliness of commercial passenger travel by ship, one of the more important uses we make of nuclear energy is powering our aircraft carriers and submarines, since it is militarily very advantageous to not have to constantly refuel those craft.

And one of the main processes (control by cooling) is thermodynamically easy with the vehicle literally sitting in water.

Well, you wouldn't want just any old random atoms for something as important as powering a ship, would you?

I guess when you're dealing with atoms "few" is a relative term.
