Elusive Disc shipped mine on 12/29. However, I think it was already out at that point.

I'm obviously no good at following MoFi's release schedule. Second time this week I've gone to the store and found a surprise in the bins.

AT LAST, they finally got this sucker right! So many different editions over the years, and none are as warm and rich as this. I can finally trade my others.

I'll stay with my Mastersound version. I'm not a fan of the MFSL cd releases.

It's a ragged sounding recording (probably by design), but this version sounds much better than the previous versions I've heard. It's certainly a nice upgrade from the standard CD.

Bump: I've merged the various Mobile Fidelity threads together into a single ongoing one, similar to our Audio Fidelity thread. Here are all the MoFi hybrid SACDs which have been released so far this year (also added to the first post):

Note that MoFi discs usually become available at Amazon a couple of weeks or more after their initial release to the old specialty sites such as Elusive Disc. If you can stand to wait a little, Amazon is almost always cheaper (currently $7 less per disc). The title of this thread will include the most recent general release date, in any case (i.e. when the latest SACD became available at Amazon).

The Band's Stage Fright will be released very soon (already available directly from what I understand).

So what was wrong with the old Sony Mastersound gold disc of JT?

Note this issue WILL have the same mixes as the original Capitol lp contrary to what you may have seen by one self publicist elsewhere.

As well I'll add for people in the UK it's usually cheaper to order via Amazon.com as Amazon UK adds a big mark up on specialty cd titles such as those by Mofi and AF.

It was pretty hilarious to see Hoffman post on his forum that MoFi "must be using the alternate mix". So in Hoffman's mind, the original LP mixes that The Band approved for release is the "alternate mix", and HIS version for DCC (which uses unfinished mixes) is "definitive".

I saw that. He's hilarious. His ego must be as fragile as a half-cracked eggshell.

Just post that you read somewhere that he didn't use a master tape for one of the McCartney DCCs.

He goes off on you, sort of apologizes and five years later, admits in a post that "yeah I did that, so what?" like it was no big thing.

So much so reference to Rob's post at another forum explaining all about the mixes and why Mofi are using the original one have been removed from sir's site sanitized for your protection.
All I will say is if you like The Band and want to hear this album at it's best then by the Mofi cos you know they'll do a great job.
