This dude was hired for a position that they could've given to me. They hired an outside guy instead of promoting an internal employee. Pissed me off.

And now they're giving him the "Game of Thrones" article. Insult to injury.

Sorry to hear that.

Was the magazine based in Wisconsin or did you telecommute?

She actually told me once that she got in trouble over it. I find that kind of weird, cause why would she get in trouble but not me? :-o

No kidding.
Weird list. Probably the oldest film there was from 1974 (Blazing Saddles).Kids really don't like old movies.

1974...

No Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, Abbot and Costello, Jerry Lewis...

No Producers, Dr. Strangelove, M*A*S*H, Odd Couple...

Sort of like having a best baseball hitters of all time list and leaving off Ruth, Dimaggio, and Williams.

I had not realized before until I looked it up just now, but Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein were both released in the same year, 1974. Man, what a year for Mel Brooks.

I hadn't considered that.

She did take a leave of absence right after our affair ended.

Oh my god ...

Love Anchorman and Step Brothers but his public persona has really turned me off. He's coming across like a dick in real life.

The relentless political stuff at Funny or Die. It's not even handed. On 30 Rock Tina Fey makes fun of everyone and that's cool. I can dig it. It's clever too for the most part. But Funny or Die has become just a pr machine, not just for politics either. For the Hollywood people too, for their image, etc. It's become too cool for school. Just turns me off personally, that's all.

Did you take into account the fact that it's awesome?

The NC definition of awesome must be vastly different from the KY definition.

He's in SC, thank you very much.

When I first watched it I didn't find it funny at all but it has gotten funnier with every subsequent viewing. Except for the last twenty minutes which I find goes downhill.

Pretty much. Once he leaves the station it gets kind of maudlin. But I love all the shenanigans at the station when they're adjusting to Applegate as the new female anchor.

He's presenting his opinions, not doing the evening news or anything requiring equal time. That's not "being a dick" that's "being liberal and Allen is conservative and doesn't like the joke". Which is fine, no one should feel compelled to like Will Ferrell (I certainly don't! :) ). But be fair; it's not him being a dick.
