I just saw a reference to Dr. Fate elsewhere on the Intrawub, and it got me wondering what this vast cross section of superior humanity that is IMWAN thinks about the other good Doctor. So, Dr. Fate: Whatcha think? Like him? Like the concept? Like the costume? Like the costume revisions? Like the revolving door civilian occupants of Nabu's helmet? Like Nabu's helmet being the real thing, as opposed to one standard human BEING the Doc and USING the helmet? Dr. strange could kick his ass with the Eye Oof Amagetto blindfolded? -or- Dislike any all / Don't care / STFU Tommy.
Oh, and feel free to post all the pics you want, as I neglected to do so.

I haven't had much exposure to him, just thought of him as DC's "sorcerer supreme."
But I really enjoyed the most recent episode of Young Justice with him in it. That's the first time I really understood the Nabu angle.

I've always liked the look of the character and the overall concept as far as I knew of it (sorceror with link to ancient Egypt). Like him as a member of JSA, but not solo. The helmet is cool. Hated the revamp they did of him in the 90s. Thankfully short-lived.

I liked the Keith Giffen mini and his appearance in the Justice League reboot drawn by Kevin Maguire.

Love him.
Love the Golden Age version most, best costume (full helmet of course).
I did quite like the Hector Hall version.
I don't really like the new one. I think the costume is really lacking, it needs more than just that little gold chevron buckle thingie.
I also dislike that he is named Kent Nelson, and oh, just happened to have a girlfriend named Inza.
I'd rather they just have either brought back the original Nelson, or chosen a different name for the new guy.
Overall, I'd have preferred they still just had Hector, as I thought that suited the book well, but ah well. Mandates are mandates.

When I was a kid, I loved the Earth 2 heroes (even more than the Earth 1 ones!) and thought Dr. Fate had one of the coolest costumes ever. I don't know much about him Post-Crisis.

I wonder if Doctor Fate would've had a bigger and earlier resurgence if he had been given a solo shot in the '60's (as they did with the Spectre). They gave him a couple of issues of Showcase, but he shared billing with Hourman (an odd pairing) and fought a couple of non-Fate-like villains (Grundy and Psycho Pirate). The Spectre was supposed to share his Showcase tryouts with Doctor Mid-Nite, but they dropped Mid-Nite and gave the Spectre a couple of solo shots.

The ankhs were the contribution of Simonson to Dr. Fate that stuck because they were so cool.
I remember the day that my father bought me that issue of Brave & Bold along with the Marvel Team-up of Spiderman & Guardians of the Galaxy at Ferguson's Bait Shop in Pontotoc, Ms. Good times.

I enjoyed the GA stories (although my usual qualms about magic characters carry over to him too) and I loved the Pasko / Simonson one shot.

Not sure if the Metamorpho issue is included in his Showcase.
