Yikes!! My least favorite Macca album (DR), my second least favorite that I am on a break from (C&C), and an album of mostly covers that I LIKE, but don't really go to very often.
What a let down.
Hopefully, the mastering on these will be a revelation.... but I am not getting my hopes up too high yet.

You would think he would go with what the fans really want...to create a stir with his classic older catalog and work his way up into the lesser known material. What a mistake.

I don't own these and definitely won't be buying remasters of these albums.

I have the entire McCartney catalog and these are not bad albums, just not worth buying again. I would get Flowers in The Dirt and possibly Off The Ground if the bonus material was good.

They'll put out these three CD's, they won't sell well, then Concord Music will have all the excuse they need NOT to continue the McCartney expanded/remastered series. The McCartney expanded/remastered series will go into long term limbo(like The Bee Gees series at Rhino). My prediction is that the McCartney deal with Concord music will then be dissolved(by mutual agreement), then McCartney will go back to EMI.

I assume that you're correct, calijawn, and that we may expect another Band on the Run-style package (or a deluxe edition of some sort) this holiday season for one or more of the most acclaimed albums in Paul's catalogue: Venus and Mars, McCartney, Wings over America, etc. These more recent albums will at least keep the profile for the McCartney Archive Collection up, and hopefully they will include strong bonus material and new liner notes for those of us so inclined to pick them up again...

Looks like a label swap... same editions, but Concord on the back instead of EMI. They're probably just putting out the ones that need the least work for now.

I've been waiting for the opportunity to say this. Now is the time. "Chaos and Creation In The Backyard" was the most underappreciated album of the past decade. If you have never had the pleasure of hearing it, buy it this time around. If you've never really listened to it, give it a good listen. It stands its ground next to any of McCartney's post-Beatle solo work--in the same league as "Flaming Pie," "Flowers in the Dirt," "Tug Of War," and "Band on the Run."

I agree. Loved it from first listen and never tire of it and its associated B-sides.

This is my guess. Probably just straightforward reissues since there's no need to remaster these.

Indeed. As much as I love Chaos and Run Devil Run, they're still too "new" for me to want to replace them with new versions already. If they're straight reissues, I can live with that.

Why do I think that these will merely be reissues on the Concord label? I have Chaos & Run Devil Run - but never got Driving Rain...so I might be interested in that one. Was that the one that was released with multiple "covers" (i.e. booklet artwork)?
Do any of these actually need re-mastering? It's been awhile since I've heard them. I know that a lot of people complained about Memory Almost Full - because it was so compressed.
Also, there was that "Coming Soon" insert in Band On The Run - that mentioned 6 titles in the "Paul McCartney Archive Collection". Those will most definitely be re-mastered.

I love Chaos – it’s one of his best albums, but don’t understand the logic of going backwards. I thought they are going in a non-linear release schedule of sorts based on the insert in the Band on the Run disc, which was a few early albums, plus McCartney 2. Since his catalog has moved to that label, it makes sense that they would re-release every title, but I can’t imagine that any “recent” title needs to be remastered (say, Flaming Pie forward – though I love that album too).
