Mike Duquette over at http://theseconddisc.com/ spotted this one. No "Run Rudolph Run" or any of the other assorted Keef odds and sods that have popped up over the years, but one welcome rarity is included that was originally attributed to the Rolling Stones--"Hurricane", the impossible-to-find charity CD single from 2005. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0045VO0Z6/?tag=imwan-20Quote: There s little doubt that many years from now, the music of the Rolling Stones will give future fans an illuminating glimpse into the soul of Keith Richards. But if anyone really wants to get to know the inspired artist, devil-may-care prankster and genuine human being behind the rock god, the best place to start might just be his two solo studio albums, Talk Is Cheap (1988) and Main Offender (1992) key moments of which, along with select cuts from 1988 s Live at the Hollywood Palladium and the ballad Hurricane (released by the Stones to raise funds for victims of Katrina), together make up the new collection from Mindless Records, Vintage Vinos. One could argue that with such an incredible body of work at his fingertips, Keith Richards wouldn't have had to play another lick and his sonic canvas would still sound better than just about any other rock guitarist in the game. But if you really want to hear a naturally gifted singer, vital songwriter and guitar hero demonstrate how it s done, these fourteen songs will let you know you ve come to the right place.
1.Take It So Hard 2.Big Enough 3.You Don’t Move Me 4.Struggle 5.Make No Mistake 6.Too Rude (Live) 7.Time is on My Side (Live) 8.Happy (Live) 9.Connection (Live) 10.Wicked As It Seems 11.Eileen 12.Hate It When You Leave 13.Locked Away 14.Hurricane (Acoustic)
Tracks 1-5 and 13 from Talk is Cheap (Virgin, 1988) Tracks 6-9 from Live at the Hollywood Palladium, December 15, 1988 (Virgin, 1989) Tracks 10-12 from Main Offender (Virgin, 1992) Track 14 given to fans who donated to Hurricane Katrina relief during the most recent Rolling Stones tour. Previously unreleased on CD

First I've heard about this. Why oh why doesn't it include Keith's one-off single of "The Harder They Come"? (The flip-side of "Run Rudolph Run")

Thanks for the heads up, AMW. The appearance of "Hurricane" was enough to compel me to order.

Mike at the Second Disc has made note of this as well, but looking at the cover art, I think the title of this album is supposed to be "Vintage Winos," not "Vintage Vinos." I know there are official sources listing the latter title, but I think they're wrong.

But since Vino is Wine, it might have been intentional in design.

Still, as much as I love Keith Richards, there is no reason really for me to buy this! Nothing remixed, as far as I can tell, so far. I have it all anyway. On the one hand, nice of him to not make me buy this for one or two extra tracks. On the other, ... kind of feel like I'm missing out!

In lieu of a new Winos album (LONG overdue!), I'll take what little scrap is thrown my way.
I'm 40 pages deep into his autobiography. I'm sure this comp is supposed to act as a companion piece of sorts. CBS's program "Sunday Morning" also did a fine interview with him last Sunday.

Keith Richards is releasing the first-ever collection of his solo records today on Mindless Records. The album features remastered tracks (both solo and with The X-Pensive Winos) from Talk is Cheap, Live at the Hollywood Palladium and Main Offender.
The album also includes “Hurricane,” an acoustic track previously available only to fans who donated to Hurricane Katrina relief during the most recent Rolling Stones tour.
Also, this week only, anyone who purchases a copy of Vintage Vinos on KeithRichards.com will receive an exclusive download of the live video for “Take it So Hard” from the out-of-print Live at the Hollywood Palladium.
Keith Richards, Vintage Vinos track list:
1. “Take it So Hard” 2. “Big Enough” 3. “You Don’t Move Me” 4. “Struggle” 5. “Make No Mistake” 6. “Too Rude” (live) 7. “Time is on My Side” (live) 8. “Happy” (live) 9. “Connection” (live) 10. “Wicked as it Seems” 11. “Eileen” 12. “Hate it When You Leave” 13. “Locked Away” 14. “Hurricane”

There it is, another press release from an official source that gets the name of the album wrong.

Makes sense to me. Wine is vino in Italian and Spanish, the title "Vintage Vinos" has alliteration going for it, the name of his band was the "X-pensive Winos" (another play on words), and the way the V's come together forming a "W" one might see "Wino" at first glance before seeing "Vintage Vinos", thus elevating these "winos" to a higher or upper class of alcoholic excess. Or something like that.
Expensive, vintage, ... still wish there was more on this to justify me buying it. Although I suppose this IS the first OFFICIAL commercial release of Hurricane (the original being more or less a promo).

I love Keith and Talk Is Cheap was great. Main Offender was pretty bad and from some label I've never heard of for a crappy 90 second song I've heard before I will pass. I guess others did-this didn't even chart.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure Mindless is just a Richards vanity label...
