Laura Marling has told NME that she is now not going to release two albums this year - but the extra time will make her third album better.
The singer, who features in the 2010 NME Cool List, had originally planned to release a second album in 2010, following the release in March of her second record 'I Speak Because I Can'.
However Marling now says fans will have to wait a little bit longer for her next release.
"It's not going to be this year, but it's good," she explained. "It will be on its way soon, which is nice. It's becoming different from the last album actually, because I've scrapped a bit of it halfway through. I hope to have it done by February. Setting deadlines is not my favourite thing!"

I was disappointed with "I Speak Because I Can". Her vocals weren't as sharp and the songwriting was not as good as on her first album, "Alas I Cannot Swim". I hope whatever she does different with the next album makes it better than the 2nd one.
Laura Marling has spoken in a new NME video interview after winning the Best Solo Artist award at last night’s (February 23) Shockwaves NME Awards ceremony.
The singer beat off competition from Kanye West, Florence And The Machine’s Florence Welch, Frank Turner and Paul Weller to take the award.
As well as reflecting on the award she said she still hopes to release a new album in 2011 - having scrapped plans to release a second full record beyond 'I Speak Because I Can' in 2010.

Laura Marling has revealed the tracklisting for her third studio album 'A Creature I Don't Know'.
The album, which is due for release on September 12, features 10 tracks and is the follow-up to her 2010 album 'I Speak Because I Can'. You can watch a video preview of the album by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.
Marling has also revealed the album's artwork, which is pictured at the top of the page.
The singer will be playing material from 'A Creature I Don't Know' during sets at End Of The Road Festival, Bestival and Green Man festival during the remainder of the summer.
