Was Born To Run ever released (remastered) without the dvd's ? I rarely watch the dvd's in boxsets or deluxe editions so I would rather just get the single disc . Will Darkness only be available in the boxset ?

I don't think the remaster was ever issued separately. I would get Darkness, but that box set is too much for someone like me, a casual Springsteen fan.

According to Dave Marsh:

Quote:
"Bruce took the Album, and he Remastered it, and put it on a Compact Disc, and took it to his Disciples and said, 'Take, enjoy; for this is my album, which has been remastered for you and for many; play this in rememberance of me.' And he took the video, and gave thanks, and said unto them, 'This is my video, which shall be bundled with my album forevermore. Take, watch this; do this in rememberance of Me.' For we have received unto The Boss that which The Boss hath giveth to us, this boxed set, which is available from Amazon for only $35.99 plus shipping, that which shall be joined forever, and whoever shall play this album and watch this DVD shall enjoy eternal life, and will be raised up to The Boss's side at the last day."

Never owned the original. Remaster sounds good to my ears.

The 30th Anniversary Edition can be found pretty cheap. I paid $15.48 recently for a sealed copy.
