Okay. I loved most of episode one.
Peter's taking a more active role instead of his petulant, passive one. This is good. At his core he wants a family, and he's building one --as dysfunctional as it is. His dual relationship with his dad is layered and sad: he cares for his father, but will never really get what he needs from him. But he still struggles in hopes that he might. Peter may be the most rounded character on the show.
They have brought in another extremely hot and sexy young woman to "help" who has an agenda of her own. I am somewhat disappointed that the writers didn't beef up Jassica Nicole's role. I mean for god's sake she's a forensic lab assistant and fully-trained FBI agent, and this week all she did was stir up custard! While it's cool that the FRINGE Division has a character who is basically like Dr. Smith from LOST IN SPACE, it is not good to have a character who is pretty much designed from the start to be the weak sister.
Changes in allies, enemies and situations are going to make the second season interesting indeed. I hold out hope that Peter isn't the only character who will show some growth.
Dunham has to start doing more than just being hot and tough and placed in hostage situations. The writers have never really answered the question of WHY this woman is part of this team. Sometimes, she's the emotional glue of the family, but more often than not, they all come together to just get her out of whatever jam she's in every week. She needs to do more.
But boy HOWDY, does she look good doing it.
And please ... who didn't guess Charlie's secret at the end of the show?

Been catching up on FRINGE over the summer and am now watching "Peter."
Seeing loads of comic book influences on the show. Anyone still watching?
