Leon Russell had his own site where he sold many of his releases (some even autographed). Unsure if it's still up but that's where I got my copy and some of his other material.

Yes there was. It came out on vinyl in the early 80's. It was available from his own site on DVD a few years back (around the time when vol III came out). There were about a dozen titles available but then there was nothing new for the longest time.

Haven't been there for a long time.

IMHO - Vol 1 was/is the best of the lot.

Somebody does read these forums because shortly after I started this thread 3 of these CDs popped up for sale on Amazon for $95. That was too much for me to spend, but after a while one did come down out of the stratosphere. It arrived today :D :D :D :yay: . Btw, I believe there is an uncredited duet w/Wille Nelson on Wabash Cannonball.

IMO - from the Mad Dogs tour till Will of the Wisp - Leon was at his zenith. I was lucky enough to get all his lps on cd. I even got all the later ones except a Christmas CD he had. For a while his site had all sorts of reissues (of the obscure stuff) and a handful of new releases...and then it stopped being updated. Did he lose interest? It just didn't pay? It was good to fill in the gaps in my Leon Russell collection.

There's a promo CD single on the Shelter label of Leon Russell doing 2 Christmas songs (recorded back in the 70s). Copies pop up on eBay every so often. AFAIK, though, he never recorded a full Christmas album.

Leon has been sneaking stuff out these past few years, and has indeed released a Christmas album.

I would still like to see his Paradise albums come out on CD. Although they don't hold a candle to the pre-Will o The Wisp albums, I remember enjoying much of The Wedding Album and Americana.

And I'm sure I still have the old Shelter Christmas single.

I think the Wedding Album is fantastic, still have my vinyl (on my list for digital transfers). The follow-up with Mary had some good moments, but Wedding Album was real magic through and through.
