I'm really too old to be caring, but I tried to get in a few good games Modern Warfare this afternoon, and every lobby has stupid kids sitting in a corner of the map away from the action, taking turns killing each other to boost their "Prestige." For those, who don't play this game, "Prestige," doesn't really gain you too much of anything in the game, but is just a medal to be worn, as the name implies.

Why cheat and ruin it for the other 6 strangers playing in the same lobby as you? How is it "Prestigious" to earn something by cheating? Nothing personal, but I wish nothing but the worst kind of asshole Cancer on all of these kids.

The ones you need to wish horrible ass cancer on are the ones who deliberately fuck you over when you are playing as a team.
The ones who bail out of the chopper when you are flying over the city, and they are piloting, or the ones who deliberately blow you up, or cause you to lose the round.
Back when I got my Xbox, I got 3 free months of Xbox Gold, and tried to do some of the online play, and it was pure hell.
(Until you got a room full of players who really would stick together, and decide to take out all the trouble makers. Nothing more fun than watching some half wit try and defend against/run away from, 20 people out to make his gaming experience miserable)

But even then, it wore thin very quickly.
Haven't even wanted to try Gold again. I play games to have fun, not get BF'd by some little puke.

Why do people cheat at anything?

Same reasons.

The only online game I have played a lot is Street FIghter IV. I encountered such wonderful people with complete mastery of the English language. "F*g", "n****r", "c***sucker, etc. All three in the same message if I ridiculed the other guy enough.

I think you ought to lighten up a little on such name-calling in your ridicule. I think they will be able to tell what you mean by those asterisks.

I don't do name calling. By "ridicule" I meant beating someone with, I don't know, just one attack over and over. Then they get all mad and send messages like that. I only reply with "Thanks, keep the good work" or something like that.

Single player cheats are full of win because they let you get by frustrating crap that you get stuck on; multiplayer cheats are full of fail because they upset the balance of the game and make it un-enjoyable for everyone else who is trying to play fair and experience the challenge of doing so successfully.
