I can't find any links to this on the record company's website, but a member on a Yes website I frequent posted this e-mail he got from Voiceprint in the UK about a deluxe edition of the Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe album that's supposedly in the works: http://www.yesfans.com/showpost.php?p=1 ... ostcount=6"Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe Debut Given The Expanded Treatment
As everyone is aware four former members of Yes got together to make an album in 1989. Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe released a self titled album and departed on a worldwide tour in promotion of that album with a set list drawn heavily on tracks from the album mixed with a number of Yes classics. The album however did incredibly well in territories across the world and the decision has been taken to re master the album for release and include extra tracks in an expanded edition which will be found on a second disc. The original album will feature in its newly re mastered form on disc one and on disc two there will be rare mixes of singles taken from the album at the time including material featured on a promotional disc containing tracks from the album introduced by Rick Wakeman. This promotional disc was a very limited promotional item released to radio stations and press.
The really exciting addition to the second disc however is the inclusion of three live tracks (Two live Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe tracks and one Yes classic) that have never been previously released in an official capacity. The album has proved to be a popular release with Yes fans the world over and the expanded version of the album will appeal to the still massive Yes fan base." If this is the real deal, this could be a great release. Hopefully the b-side "Vultures" will be included on disc two.

I've always loved the song "The Meeting".

On the Yes board that I read about this, there were some mixed reviews of some of Voiceprint's previous CD reissues. Hopefully, the ABWH will have good sound quality and some choice rarities on disc two.

The only thing I can find on the Voiceprint site is a 2-CD set of the ABWH "An Evening of Yes Music Plus." Supposedly Voiceprint is also going to release an ELP CD/DVD set of a live Dec. '70 concert and a live Jack Bruce DVD "Rope Ladder to the Moon."

Voiceprint is very dodgy-I'd be cautious with the ABWH. I guess Arista/BMG let the rights lapse on that one. I saw that tour and it was great-the album was mediocre. "Vultures" should absolutely appear, but I don't see any indication that it will from the notes.

Voiceprint has also done the Mountain "Official Bootleg Series". As much as I like Mountain, I've never heard any of them, so can't comment on the sound quality.

Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe should have been a great CD but I never really got into it. It's the least fav Yes CD apart from Big Generator.

Voiceprint previously earned the ire of ABWH with their video release(s) of An Evening Of Yes Music Plus, which included various edits and apparently little in the way of video/audio upgrade from the early '90s laserdisc.

The promo CD mentioned in the first post includes the Wakeman introduction and several (apparently) unique edits of "Brother Of Mine", "Birthright", and "Order Of The Universe". Other potential tracks for inclusion on this release: - Brother Of Mine [Radio Edit]
- Brother Of Mine [Single Version]
- Vultures (In The City)
- Themes (ii) Second Attention [B-side Version]
- Order Of The Universe [Short Edit]
- Order Of The Universe [Long Edit]
- Teakbois (The Life And Times Of Bobby Dread) [After The Hurricane Version]
- Quartet (I'm Alive) [Remix]
- Sweet Dreams / Brother Of Mine / Roundabout [Live at the Arista Records 15th Anniversary, 1990]

Acoording to a post on a Yes fan website, the ABWH deluxe is still in the works. And they also said something about a Union reissue as well. Um, expanding that one might be, um..interesting??

The "Union" release are 2-CD & 3-DVD sets of concert recordings from the "Union" tour, not an expanded release of the studio album.

Most likely-the Union shows from Denver (2 DVDs from the in-house feed) and San Fran (from the japanese laser disc). I have these and I doubt they did anything to improve them, but I'm curious. The Denver show is complete (3 songs did air on ABC's In Concert series in 1991 in better quality than the in-house feed) and the San Fran show from 8-8-91 is a 2 hour show beautiful looking/sounding but not complete. The Denver show is about 180 minutes or so. A 2nd CD would include a live show I guess. Maybe this adds the b-side "Give And Take"? I should've put this under the Union post but Union was just mentioned here so, there it is.

I have long wanted a DVD from the Union tour, which I saw (twice). I will get these.

I think I'd be interested in Union live shows. IP, how are the 2 shows you mention?

The tour was definitely better than the album. I hope the DVDs are of acceptable quality.

It's from the in-house feed and the performance is beyond excellent. The 15 minute version of "Yours Is No Disgrace" is incredible with long jams by Howe and Rabin and showcases how completely different their approach is. You also get Rick Wakeman's mind blowing keyboard solo and the drum duet between Bruford and White as well as Chris Squire's bass jam. Then there's the acoustic solos from Howe and Rabin! The San Fran show is a beautifully shot and mixed show and is from the latter stages of the tour and features a less exciting performance than earlier (it was the last night of the 2nd US tour), but it's still great and offers a warm atmosphere. But is only 2 hours if I recall. Maybe they have the whole show now? I doubt it. I saw this tour twice-opening night (after a warm-up gig) in Atlantic City in April 1991 and later in Philly in July 1991. Both gigs were among the best I've ever seen. This was the Denver show: Firebird Suite Yours Is No Disgrace Rhythm Of Love Shock To The System Heart Of The Sunrise Clap/Mood For A Day Make It Easy/Owner Of A Lonely Heart And You And I Drum Duet Hold On I've Seen All Good People Kaye Solo/Changes Solly's Beard Long Distance Runaround Whitefish/Amazing Grace Lift Me Up Wakeman Solo Awaken Roundabout This is what appeared on the Japanese laserdisc of the San Fran show: Yours Is No Disgrace Rhythm Of Love Heart Of The Sunrise Clap Make It Easy Owner Of A Lonely Heart I've Seen All Good People Solly's Beard Saving My Heart Whitefish Wakeman Solo Awaken Roundabout

IP, I too saw an early show in April,1991 at the Worcester Centrum and later in July at Great Woods (the venue would not allow for the "in the round" stage, however). Great shows!

IP, thanks! Not interested in the dvd's, but I'm going to seriously consider picking up the Union live 2 cd set when it comes out.

ABWH Deluxe Edition CD 1:
This is for the three people who may be interested in the deluxe edition of ABWH. If you're a bits are bits kind of guy, the album is the same mastering as the CD you already have. If you think Japanese first pressings are always better I'd suggest you spend the money to see if your CD player makes this new disc sound better than your old disc.
ABWH Deluxe Edition CD 2:
The shortest edit of Order Of The Universe was also the same as the old CD single. I assume the other edits were cloned too.
Vultures was from the old CD but it was the only track I tested that had limiting applied to it. There wasn't any EQ added but it had 5dB of limiting. When level matched it all cancels out except for the crackling of the square waves from the limiting.
I'm Alive is a new transfer that runs slightly faster than the original CD single. It also sounds awful. Lots of top end boosting. Really bright. Many Hoffmanites will undoubtedly have blood spraying from their delicate ears.
The live tracks are fine. The left side is somewhat muted on all three tracks for some reason. Maybe it was recorded to analog tape and the alignment was off. I don't know what's going on. Performances are good but there are other live recordings of Yes I'd much rather hear than ones from 1989. Bruford's toy drums kinda kill any enthusiasm I would've otherwise had.
Basically, I didn't get anything out of this Deluxe Edition that I already didn't have except for three live tracks I only have a passing interest in. If you don't have the the non-album tunes and want the single edits of the other tunes (including the dreadful Order Of The Universe) get it. Vultures and I'm Alive are both quite good and aren't on the album. Otherwise just keep your old CD that you listen to once every decade.
