 Post subject: EMI Going Bust?

(there's too many articles about this to link to, just do a google news search for "EMI"...)

Basically, Terra Firma (the group that owns EMI) need to raise at least 120 million pounds within 2 months to avoid a takeover by Citigroup (who backed to loan the company used to purachase EMI).

Thoughts?

Citigroup as a record label????? Wow; but it has been the trend for the bean counters to take over the music biz the last 25 years or so........

I can just picture using Beatles songs to sell Mortgages........

I'd assume if Citigroup took control; they'd just wind it up and sell off their assets (which would mean EMIs back catalogue would probably get purchased by another major; which I don't like the thought of)
