Haven't heard this disc but I'd bet it is from 9-26-73. If that date sounds familiar, it was the famous Allman Bros. show at Winterland that has been making the rounds for years and was the basis for much of the live "Wipe The Windows" LP. MTB was pretty hot, themselves, that night. KSAN broadcast the whole thing and I've had the tapes for all these years. Interesting that Amazon would call this a career peak when it was their first tour!! But really, I've never heard them better. This tape has remained my favorite slice of MTB after all these years. I may be partial to it for other reasons, as well. I was backstage as a guest of MTB. I still remember one of the band, who shall remain anonymous, in a classic Carolina drawl, saying, "Les, you're a lahf saver with this pot!!"
