Are these original albums that I have never heard of, or perhaps reissues of old vinyl comps?

I see that they've got an old RCA logo on the covers, perhaps these were posthumous '70s albums?

These were both RCA/Camden releases, and I believe they're compilations.

Well, at least they offer something other than the usual hits, maybe some stuff on there I don't have.

I want to say that the version of "I Ain't Gonna Cheat On You No More" is a slightly different mix unavailable anywhere else, but I'm not 100% sure on that. I have the original CD issue of this album.

What I hope is that this is a sign of things to come for album reissues of his that have never seen the light of day on CD. Most of his Keen albums and a few of his RCA albums (beginning or end) haven't been issued on CD. I'd read that a movie is in the works (as recently as October 2009) so maybe they'll start to roll some music out. I'd love for them to get a Hip-O Select-style reissue.

Yet to be released on CD officially:

Keen:
Sam Cooke (S/T)
Encore
Hit Kit (a greatest hits comp)
I Thank God (only had 4 Sam Cooke songs on it. The rest were other artists.)

RCA:
Cooke's Tour
Hits Of The 50s (I have this on CD, but I'm not sure how official it is)
Swing Low
My Kind Of Blues
Twistin The Night Away
Mr. Soul
Shake

Tribute To The Lady did get a CD release a few years ago, but it wasn't available on North America due to licensing reasons.

SAM COOKE/NIGHT BEAT SACD
January 5, 2010 pre-order
Mastered from the Original Three-Track Master Tapes!
"The definitive Night Beat" - Hi-Fi+ Rated: 10/10 for Recording and Music!

Clearly Sam Cooke’s most intimate, most soulful and ultimately most real recording. This one has the feel of a private performance captured after hours when the audience had gone home and the singer was singing purely for the love of his songs. The performance put forth is simply straight from Cooke’s soul. His selection of songs include spiritual, bluesy ballads and gospel classics. Cooke owns these songs, making each interpretation all his own. This is warm music that’s easy to connect with. Mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound from the original three-track masters. Originally released in 1963.

Features:
• Hybrid Multi-Channel SACD
• Mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound from the original three-track masters.

Selections:
1. Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen
2. Lost and Lookin'
3. Mean Old World
4. Please Don't Drive Me Away
5. I Lost Everything
6. Get Yourself a Another Fool
7. Little Red Rooster
8. Laughin' and Clownin'
9. Trouble Blues
10. You Gotta Move
11. Fool's Paradise
12. Shake Rattle and Roll

I've got that album on the 4CD box set, but might still get this one for the remastering.
