Great New Wave from the 80's for any fan of New European/New Romatic MTV-era music. I know Cherry red remastered the first 3 albums a few years ago and apparantley they were very good-no needle drops.
This is a new best of with rare tracks from the Liberty/EMI years that looks to be quite good. I loved this band back then, especially because MTV played the hell out of "Guilty" (I also used to hear that on the great WDRE-FM) and Sal Solo looked like Nosferatu.
I was fortunate enough to interview Sal around 2002 and the interview was great but never got published becaue the magazine I was at folded after many years due to advertising problems. It may be getting published after all soon but I have to wait and see.
In any case, there's probably not many fans here of Classix but I will be getting this for sure.

Product Description
Classix Nouveaux formed from the ashes of X Ray Spex when the band auditioned for a new front person in the Melody Maker after the sudden departure of their wild wailer Poly Styrene. The enigmatic Sal Solo was chosen by guitarist Jak Airport and drummer BP Hurding and with the addition of bassist Mik Sweeney from Sal's previous band the News, a soon to be cult band was born.

The band's heavily made up, theatrical image led them to be quickly associated with the New Romantic movement as they filled the alternative dance floor with their synth-driven beats, though their sound was more guitar driven than that of their peers Japan and Ultravox.

After three successful previous Classix Nouveaux releases along with one Sal Solo album, Cherry Red is thrilled to announce the Liberty Singles Collection. Featuring A and B sides some of which have never been on CD before, this is a must have for any fan of Classix Nouveaux, and a perfect starting point for anyone who has missed this criminally ignored band.
