I ordered the Petty 4 cd on 11/17/09. My understanding is it released 11/23/09. My DD order has not shipped. Here is the BULLSHIT answer to my inquiry:
"Thank you for contacting DeepDiscount.com!
We're sorry to inform you that the item is temporarily out of stock and unavailable to ship. Unfortunately, we do not have a shipping date for this item. When more information is available, we will email you. Your credit card account will not be charged until the item is shipped. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Again, thank you for writing DeepDiscount.com. We appreciate your business.
Regards,"
I say BS because I preordered in plenty of time for them to add my order to their initial order. I've heard others say DD's service SUCKS, but i believe this is the first time I've dealt with this, I've had similar experiences with Amazon USA & Family Video in the last year,

I have a different DD complaint... a DVD box I ordered had a big oil stain on the back cover  I'm hoping it was just some manufacturing error or something, and not someone at the warehouse spilling their greasy food on it... (there were perforations on the plastic wrap...)

I have dealt with DD many times and they only complaint I have is that they are so slow to ship.Usually 2 weeks or 2 1/2 before you get your items.

I had one shipment where they included the wrong item (a Bear Family box). Their customer service during this exchange was good though.

Usually every year that I used them, they'd lose a DVD in the mail. But they've always been good about replacement.

You go to deep discount for savings, not speed of delivery. If anyone wishes to buy their Christmas presents through them, I'd suggest doing it NOW. You might get them in time if you work quickly.

I checked my order history with them. Out of 5 or 6 orders, this is the 1st time they've ever taken more then 3 days to ship. It will also be the last. If it wasn't for sales tax & shipping through Amazon I'd pay the extra $2.50 & cancel this order. But add $2.98 ship & 9.3% sales tax & it's a lot of $'s (around $7.30 more)

I find it strange that their site has no indication whether the items you are ordering are in stock or not. Again, I guess you get what you pay for.

^^ Well they do let you know if the item is in stock or not, but you don't find out until you place it in your cart. When you go to pay, look at your cart and it will tell you at that point if the item is out of stock. It's kind of annoying to shop the site, place items in your cart, then when you go to pay you find out that everything in your cart is out of stock... waste of time.

Good news, Discorama Overstock got the Petty set in for 50 cents more, so I canceled the DD order (with a big smile on my face) & ordered it from Discorama Overstock.

The discorama order arrived today (4 days including Sunday!). DD had the order for 11 days before I canceled it.......

I've been mostly disappointed by DD's delivery in the past, but I have to say, with my much smaller order this year, I have no complaints - all three items were in stock and were delivered in about a week from when I placed the order.
That's definitely not the norm, though - last year, my order at this time wasn't completed until February and featured the ever popular In Stock on this page and Backordered in the cart.

I use Deep Discount frequently. Usually though my orders are split due the inability to fill order completely.

I've had nothing but good service from Deep Discount. Yes, they are slow to ship but shipping is free. They have great prices and their customer service has always taken care of me.

Never had a problem with DD...though I haven't gotten anything from them in at least 2 years. Even then, their shipping time was horrendous. But, free.

I just took a chance on Deep Discount again. I wanted the Dr. Horrible DVD and Amazon was selling on DVD-Rs of it. Other places, like Deep Discount, didn't mention their DVDs of it being DVD-R, and had slightly different case covers. We'll see what I get, if I get it, when I get it.
I was surprised that I qualified for free shipping for just buying an $8 DVD.

Other than the initial delay notice like you received, nothing. The delay was so long and other articles delivered I forgot about this and bought the Petty at Target in December. Lo and behold, it shows up. Well I have decided to keep it and give it to a friend but I am still pissed with them for not crediting me back the difference for the Buddy Holly set even though I have a E-Mail promising that they would. I need to get after them tomorrow on this. Rick A.
