You have to ask??

It's not only been fun, it's been a lot of fun. I think we've had more traffic here on a daily basis than on the old ICE board. There were times when I'd log on after a few hours or so and they'd be very little or almost no new posts. It was even worse on weekends, when it could be like a ghost town.

The IMWAN natives have been great in not only accomodating us, but joining in the fun and frolic. They share a delightfully warped sense of humor - oh Linda, that time you "banned" me was rich - and clearly love their music as much as we do.

Long live the IMWAN era of ICE!!

I'll be blunt--I like this site and setup better. I'm here twice as often, knowing I can see at a glance where any new posts and threads are without having to click all over the place.

That is a plus. A big plus.

It bears repeating; this has been a more interactive, entertaining forum to discuss the music, and dare say venture with treepedition into other areas A lot of fun! Thanks for the efforts and comfy welcome!

I agree. Thanks Linda. .....and I love the fact that while I look here for my usual music news, its nice to be able to look over and see all the comic news and funny stuff from the other guys. We ICErs were afraid we would be homeless, but you gave us a nice shiny bigger home and we appreciate it!

Just a quick note of appreciation to the regular posters on here. I found the forum when I went to the old ICE website to try to get a clue over why my magazines had stopped arriving. Before that, I was totally unaware of it's existence. While I really miss the mag, I'm glad I found the forums. Much of the sort of info I used to get from the magazine is to be found here. Thanks also to Linda for hosting us!

My circumstances are identical to yours, Geff. I found this forum upon going to the old ICE site to find out why I hadn't received an issue in a few months. Having subscribed to ICE since the late 80s, I was wondering how I'd keep up on CD release news now that ICE no longer existed. In a short amount of time, I have already found this forum to be both informative and fun. It's really nice to have found kindred spirits who are as passionate about recorded music as I am. I hope I will eventually be able to give back as much as I take from the forums.

Over the last few weeks, new members have been popping up here faster than re-releases of David Bowie's CD catalogue. It seems that every day or every time I log on, there's someone new in the forum, which is great.

I just want to say "welcome" to y'all and to any future newcomers here at the ICE Refugees Forum at IMWAN. Hope you all have fun and don't mind a little insanity, because we've got a lot of that.

But then again, we're CD collectors...goes with the territory.

Oh, let's just sticky this and make it the official, permanent ICE Welcome Thread.

There is an awful lot to pleased about, the way things have worked out since the move. Participation at ICE is about as high as I've ever seen it. New members have been joining every day ... we probably have more total membership now than in the old place, which is a remarkable achievement for only one month's work and considering that some of the members in the previous forum went elsewhere when Pete shut it down. And the range of tastes being discussed here continues to expand too. (I was knocked out by seeing posts about the dB's here this week, for example .... )

Readership is very high. Sometimes out of curiosity I like to check which sections our lurkers are visiting — the ICE forum is being perused pretty much around the clock.

It's a testament to the appeal of this community and the value of the content being posted. Y'all oughta be thrilled with yourselves. I'm thrilled with you. ICE has a long, bright, happy future ahead of it.
