I also have 2 1/2 Years. Purchased specifically because I thought Mocambo was a one-time only deal.

Given how many times Elvis has repackaged his catalog though, I can't say that I'm surprised. My guess is that the new version will be more complete but will be missing two songs that are only available on the Ryko. That seems to be the way things have gone so far.

For the 5 or 6 people in the US or the UK who haven't heard this, BUY it. Simple as that. Replaced my boot with the edition in the EC box set years ago.

Is it reasonable to assume that since Amazon is charging $15 for this it is the entire concert?

Is anyone else alarmed that Amazon's title for this item includes "The Costello Show?" This is the band name he used for "King of America" in 1986. I'm thinking this is a different show at the same venue.

The solicitation from Hip-O says it's from 1978 and credits simply "Elvis Costello", not "The Costello Show" ... unless there's another later show that they're also releasing ... but this is the only forthcoming El Mocambo CD currently listed at Amazon.

If in doubt, hold off ordering under we get a cover or tracklisting.

A question. On Amazon's sight this is billed as The Costello Show, not as Elvis and the Attractions. Could this be a different EL Mocambo show then the one that was in the box set?

Elvis didn't want Rhino to issue the El Mocambo show when his catalog was there...

If this is on Hip-O SELECT, I wouldn't expect Amazon to be carry it........ isn't SELECT mail order only?

Some of their releases make it to Amazon and I've seen a couple of them at retail.

Most of their releases make it to Amazon, and at better prices, if one is willing to wait a little longer and not immediately grab from Hip-O's own website. Very few of their so-called limited editions sell in such quantities that they never reach Amazon.

That said, the "Select" part of the name is how Amazon's listing page showed it yesterday. This could actually end up being be a non-limited "Hip-O/UMe" release.

Musictap is reporting that this is a non-Select, regular-release Hip-O title, and that it's the first volume of an intended ongoing series of live Elvis releases entitled THE COSTELLO SHOWS, answering the above post about its origin. This is the famed El Mocambo show (hopefully expanded); the Costello Shows part refers to the series, not the band.

Good for Costello! He's doing the right thing by releasing a series of shows. I can really respect this.

I'm still buying it.
