Love this album and I'd like to get this, but I've heard Cherry Red/ Cherry Pop are usually crap with needle drops and bad liner notes and such. Has anyone gotten their stuff?
Since this was 1995 I'm not worried about a needle drop, but I am concerned about the quality, especially of the bonus tracks. I also loved 1993's Elemental album-has that ever been remastered?

Can't speak for every reissue they've done, but I think you might be mixing them up with another label. Cherry Red and their subsidiaries (Rev-Ola, RPM/Retro, Now Sounds, etc) usually do stellar work. I have a lot of their releases and am very happy with them, Pete.

The Elemental album is still in print in the UK. It hasn't been remastered or expanded yet:

I only have one of their CDs -- their recent reissue of Fanny's Rock n' Roll Survivors, and it is very good.

Definitely recommended for fans of '90s-era Tears for Fears... the b-sides included here are generally quite good, although there's also a live cover of Radiohead's "Creep" that apparently didn't make the cut.

I didn't know they were associated with Rev-Ola. Many (most) of the Rev-Ola CDs I have are needle drops. I think that's just because those albums are pretty obscure and there's no other source available. Still, they sound good, certainly not bad enough to get in the way of my enjoyment of the music.

Isn't this the one that was originally issued in a limited-edition "mini-cigar box" package? I've got that one someplace.

Cherry Red's biggest problem is just inconsistency. Their reissue of The Sincero's THE SOUND OF SUNBATHING (on their Cherry Red label) was their latest disaster, with my own CD transfer sounding better than what they've released. Other product sounds great. Nice to see RAOUL AND THE KINGS OF SPAIN getting some attention, at least. The Orzabal-only years are underrated.

Oh, it's Cherry Red alright. I've been on the New Wave Outpost message board and there are a litany of complaints about some very, very shoddy work they've done. The Sinceros was one of them.
I wanted to get their Classix Noveaux releases but I was terrified after reading so many negative comments. But for an album like this released in 1995 I'd be less reluctant but still apprehensive. I'll have to let someone else be the guinea pig!

Yes Jimbo, that's correct. For completists, there are also advances on different labels since this was a case where the band were caught between two different labels prior to the album's commercial release.
