While I missed the original pre-sale last week, this morning (while in the middle of a water pipe emergency), I was able to get 2 tickets to the added Tuesday the 21st show.

This could be my first time at Citifield and at least it will be a memorable one.

btw....I woke up so I could log on for the Macca tickets sale this morning and Thank God I did. I went downstairs to start up my laptop and heard a strange sound coming from the basement. A cold water pipe had burst at one end and was flooding the basement like a geyser. Quickly I sprang into action and turned off the water supply to the house.
Thank goodness I was home today because it would have been a complete disaster. I store lot of CDs and DVDs in the basement and they could have been ruined along with all the other stuff down there.

I was able to get a good plumber over in an hour and he quickly repaired the pipe.

So in the end, it was a good day. :)

I'll be going to the Friday show (7/17). We'll be sitting in the field-level seats, for nearly $200 a ticket.

Won't be going to the same show as John :ohno: but I'm glad you got tix! :ohyes:

Save those CDs from the flood! :Rain:

I decided to save alot of $$$ and went for the upper level seats at only $59 each. At least I'm in and will get to check out the new stadium.

I'm going Friday and Saturday - got pre-sale.
Went halfway and got the $99 lower level each night.

Couldn't swing Tuesday as well....too far from work on a work night.....watch that be the night that Ringo and other special guests show up.

Sorry to hear about the basement.

I'm sure Paul could do a better job of catching a popup at second base.

I'm going on Friday and Saturday. Couldn't try for Tuesday tickets because I was in the hospital when tickets went on sale.

My seats will be in the 500 (Friday) and 400 (Saturday) level, behind home plate. They may be furthest away from the stage but I'll get a good overview of the place and I won't have to turn my head to face the stage.

If you're not familiar with Citi Field, the seats further in the outfield but closer to the stage may not be as good as they seem because many of the seats are angled to face the infield, hence if you're in one of those seats you'll have to turn your head to watch Paulie singing his songs.

According to an item posted at Steve Marinucci's blog, the opening act for McCartney's Citi Field shows - yes, in case you didn't know, there will be an opening act, thus accounting for the 6.30pm starting time - will be an "up-and-coming" Irish band called The Script.

Anyone know anything about these guys?

(Link to Marinucci's column: here.)

From All Music Guide
http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=am ... frxzy5ldte

Quote:
A self-described "Celtic soul" trio, the Script were founded by guitarist Marc Sheehan (guitar) and vocalist Danny O'Donoghue in 2001. After working in the United States as producers, Sheehan and O'Donoghue relocated to Dublin and recruited Glen Power as their drummer. Forging a unique sound based on a diverse list of influences (including U2, the Neptunes, Timbaland, and Van Morrison), the Script saw their debut single, "We Cry," receive airplay in both Ireland and Britain, as well as a nod from the influential BBC Radio DJ Jo Whiley. After signing with Phonogenic Records, the group relocated to London and scheduled both a debut album and an appearance at the Glastonbury Festival for summer 2008.

I'll probably catch their set Saturday. Friday, I won't get there until around 7:30.

I bet you are John. My sister is going Tuesday as well and she can't stop talking about it. First time for her to see McCartney so she's freakin. Saw McCartney on the Evening News playing from the rooftop of the Ed Sullivan theater, God Bless him! He's still such a kid!

:yay2: :yay: :yay: :yay2:

Really hoping those thunderstorms hold off tonight. :Rain:

In the meantime, who wants to buy a special commemorative, limited-edition Paul McCartney at Mets-Willets Point Long Island Rail Road timetable? Bidding starts @ $50...why wait and pay more on eBay?

I'll be at all three shows.

Don't forget to look for my brick on the Citi Field Fan Walk just outside the Jackie Robinson Rotunda. :yay:
