Okay, most of us know about this infamous movie, but I've always wondered what The Beatles themselves thought of it. I thought I read somewhere that either John or George thought it was funny in an unintentional way.

The little bits I've seen from Youtube have me convinced to stay as far away as possible from this movie, LOL. However...it might be good for a laugh...maybe. Or not. I'm sure the Beatles took it all in stride. After all, they did make MMT which stunk... except for the song parts.

I actually enjoy the whole I Want You (she's so Heavy) sequence quite a bit. The movie is a goof - but I get a kick out if in small doses.
Now Across the Universe managed to pull this off oustandingly IMO.

I loved the Sandy Farina version of "Strawberry Fields", and Steve Martin's "Maxwell's Silver Handle" was good. Other than that...haven't been impressed by what I've seen.

I actually loved this movie when I was younger and recently bought the CD. It brought back nice memories even though the movie was a joke...looking back almost 30 years ago.

The best part of the movie is the sequence with Aerosmith. Except Frampton should have fallen to his death and not Steven Tyler.
Oddly enough, rather than buying the movie soundtrack, I bought the Beatle album instead (Thank God!)
And a few months after that, I bought my first Aerosmith album. So seeing that movie had its' positive side.

I have never been able to watch this movie in one sitting.
I wish I hadn't finished watching "Across the Universe", come to think of it. Should've turned that one off straight away.

I wish I hadn't finished watching "Across the Universe", come to think of it. Should've turned that one off straight away. I haven't gotten around to that one. A guy at work tried to convince me that it was great, but I'm not so big on musicals anymore. And it messes with the fabs, so...

I'm especially not big on attempts to pigeonhole a story onto a bunch of disparate songs written with no intended narrative flow to them, which both these movies do and do poorly. For the same reason, I have no interest in "Movin' Out" or "Mamma Mia" or any of those other musicals that do the same thing.

The movie has some decent musical performances. Aerosmith, Earth, Wind & Fire, Billy Preston...
