PayPal is an eBay company, after all, with the same (lack of) customer service.
What irritates me about PayPal is their ridiculous 45-day time limit on filing disputes. There have been several times when I've gone back and forth with a seller in a good-faith attempt to resolve an issue, and it has taken more than 45 days to finally come to the conclusion that things weren't going to work out. Especially with purchases from another country, I don't see how PayPal can think 45 days from the date of sale is enough time. Fortunately my credit card company is much more reasonable and has no problem issuing me a credit once I show them my complaint is valid. (Amusingly, after my credit card company credits my account, PayPal e-mails me to let me know they're looking into the dispute they had previously denied as untimely. Like I care what they do at that point.)
Furthermore, I recall that the dates for complaints do not sync up between was PayPal says
and what eBay says. I can't say for certain anymore, but when I had problems with a seller,
I waited in good faith as eBay recommended, only to find out afterwards that PayPal's time
limit was different. WTF? (Maybe they have sync them since; it's been a few years.)
