Anyone else feel this is a disappointing collection. He's probably due for
a 2 CD comp soon. "Hits" is 11 years old. Rhino, what are you waiting for?

While "Hits" is weak, it has moved over 4 million copies in the US alone, and 10 million worldwide. Don't expect a replacement soon, but you'd think they would milk Phil's back catalogue over and over again anyway. There already was a 2CD comp in 2004 called "Love Songs:A Compilation...Old And New", though it was half-assed.
By the way, have any of his albums, especially the first three been remastered? If not, why?

In 1994, years before the release of Hits, Atlantic issued a promo comp titled The Story So Far.... I somehow wound up with both the US and UK editions, which have different track lists. The US version is superior, at least in the number of hits included.

Image
1. Everyday 5:41
2. In The Air Tonight 5:31
3. We Wait And we Wonder 6:57
4. Another Day In Paradise 5:21
5. Everyday 5:40
6. Both Sides Of The Story 6:37
7. Sussudio 4:22
8. I Wish It Would Rain 5:27
9. Everyday 5:40
10. One More Night 4:4
11. Two Hearts 3:22
12. A Groovy Kind Of Love 3:27
13. Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now) 3:23
14. Everyday 5:42

2. Another Day In Paradise
3. You Can't Hurry Love
4. Sussudio
5. I Wish It Would Rain Down
6. Take Me Home
7. One More Night
8. Two Hearts
9. Groovy Kind Of Love
10. Against All Odds

I've thought about putting together my own 2-CD comp, or at least a Vol. 2 with missing/later hits.

Jimbo, why in the world is "Everyday" on there 4 times? So one can hear it every day?
P.S.
I assume it's a misprint!

Probably not a misprint. I suppose it's a promo CD of "Everyday" sent to radio stations back in the day.
Put the new song first, then a few hits, the the new single again???

P.S.
how does Jimbo get his hands on so many promo discs? Is he in radio??? :-D
