It was okay. I don't like most of the TNG movies. The characters always act like season 1 of the show.

In a similar vein, I recently tried to watch First Contact after not seeing it in years.

Christ, what a joyless, soulless film that is. It was like watching the Star Trek equivalent of Rob Hewitt.

I liked First Contact a lot. Nemesis was just kind of meh to me. It didn't make me care about what was going on. And the big sacrafice in the end, was lessened by having that meaningless 'copy' remain. I still think it's better than Generations (worst Trek film ever) and NoErrection (a girl's Trek film). I guess that makes it the second best TNG film by default.

* edited to add:
All these films are Aquaman compared to the new Trek film!

After we saw Star Trek at the theater last night, we came home and watched some TNG on TV. It was really sad in comparison. Never thought I would say that because I love the show so much.

Comparing a TV series to a motion picture is really apples and oranges. There are so many differences in structure and style, to say nothing of the difference in budgets, production schedules, etc.

I enjoyed Nemesis, but it was a shadow of what it could have been. They should have had a veteran Trek director helm the film,
or at least a veteran director, period. Stuart Baird is an excellent film editor, but was a poor choice to direct the movie.

First Contact is the best of the TNG movies. Better than anything before or since.

Nemesis was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I laughed out loud at various moments intended to be "dramatic" during it. The friend I went with (who I see all Trek movies with) was the same. We both HATED it.

I liked First Contact a great deal, but yeah, Nemesis sucked, nothing against people who liked it, I know you exist, but it was bad.

It felt like a really, really bad fan film.

First Contact is a decent episode of TNG with better-than-average special effects. As a film, it's rather weak.

But, I agree with Pinto. They are all like unto Aquaman next to the glory that is STAR TREK 2009.

I liked the sexy Romulan woman in Nemesis. I liked the concept of the Remans being different that the Romulans or the Vulcans...but the way in which they were portrayed was silly (not the good kind of silly, either).

I haven't liked a Trek movie since The Voyage Home (yes, "the one with the whales" :) ).

Hopefully, the new one will be fun.

The Voyage Home was worth it just for Spock wearing sweatbands.

See, that's how I feel about Generations ... it was just an abomination of a film. It was just insulting on every level ... to Trek fans, watching Kirk get shot in the back by a pathetic 'who gives a shit' villain within that monstrous space anomaly so ominously know as ... the thread (though it does sound scarier than the Nexus). To non-Trek fans that were wondering why they should give a shit about any of these cardboard characters and their constant whining (yes, I mean Picard here). Just sitting here remembering that monstrosity is upsetting me.

Nemesis wasn't good ... I just think it's light years better than Generations (abomination of a film), and a little better than NoErection (chick Trek film). So I'm not really saying much when I call it the second best TNG film.

First Contact I really liked though. Probably #4 on my all-time Trek film list ... actually, it has to move down a spot after watching the new Trek, so maybe #5 ... that's still not bad.
