Born McKinley Morganfield, a product of the fertile Mississippi delta, he relocated to Chicago in 1943 where he began recording for the Chess brothers’ Aristocrat label. He scored hits with ‘I Can’t Be Satisfied’, ‘Honey Bee’, ‘Mannish Boy’, ‘Trouble No More’ and many other landmark blues songs. By the mid-1970s after a period of steady worldwide touring but little quality recording activity, his studio fortunes were resuscitated by one of his legion of disciples, guitarist Johnny Winter. Signed to Columbia subsidiary Blue Sky, Muddy recorded four hard-edged, timeless, back-to-basics albums with Winter that remain classics of the genre.

Having all of the original releases, I may pass. Question - was the remasters from a while back worth the upgrade? They were always on my wishlist at BMG, just never bought them, and then BMG no longer offered the titles.

I thought the original albums were just fine so I didn't bother with the remasters.
I see now that you can get Hard Again, I'm Ready, and King Bee from Amazon for around $25.00 total. Considering that Amazon wants $18.00 for this new comp, anyone that has none of it may want to go directly to the 3 albums. You won't have the live tracks, but I imagine anyone that into Muddy will want that whole album anyway.
Anyone looking for just a taste can try King Of The Electric Blues, with many of the same tracks. It's got only 15, but can be had for around $5 or $6 new from Amazon sellers.
