I've seen those on PBS! They are absolutely great. I would recommend them to anyone interested in learning more about the music.

Today I listened to Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane. I used to think of that album as mostly a perfect audio representation of a very interesting time. Over the years I've come to appreciate it as a really outstanding album. Besides the hits Somebody to Love and and White Rabbit, I've really come to like She Has Funny Cars, Today, Comin' Back To Me, D.C.B.A.-25, and Embryonic Journey. Grace Slick's recorder on Comin' Back To Me just gets me every time. Embryonic Journey might be my favorite rock instrumental ever.

Oddly enough I am listening to an interview with Jack Cassidy right now.

After a long day of intense listening, I like to fall asleep to something quiet, like blues man Lonnie Johnson.

I'm loving the new albums from The Decemberists (The Hazards of Love) and Neko Case (Middle Cyclone). Good eats!

Face Dances/ The Who.

Maybe not the classic Who with Keith Moon but their are some great songs on here especially one of my favs Daily Records. This Who is more Pete than the rest of the guys, so it would have made an awesome Pete solo record. But Roger never really sang better than in this period, You Better You Bet!. Also listen to the awesome bass work of John Entwhistle.

My favs on the lp are You Better You Bet (was a big radio hit and concert favorite)/ Did You Steal My Money/ How Can You Do It Alone/ Daily Records/ You/ Another Tricky Day.

I still haven't finished my run of the Who's studio albums. After getting Endless Wire for Xmas that year, I've decided to buy Face Dances and It's Hard. They've gotta be better than Endless Wire, and I remember liking You Better You Bet when it was a radio hit. I also saw them perform it live with Entwistle and Zak Starkey on drums, it works really well live.

Off the top of my head, I'm missing:

Face Dances
It's Hard
Who by Numbers
Odds and Sods
Quadrophenia
Who are you

Whoa, that's a lot - plus I need the mono Who Sell Out
