It's semi-local news for me, so I couldn't escape nonstop reports all day. It had only just taken off, so they were fairly low. The rescue was super quick because boats were on their way before it even touched water. The pilot radioed when the engine went down (fucking geese!) and they had ferries on the way ASAP. By the time the folks got out on the wing rescue was already there.
Pretty cool story all around.

Pretty cool story all around. Yep, semi-local for me, also.

Are you sure it was geese? Sounds to me like Charles had something to do with this.

They actually landed on A Flock of Seagulls. The haircut got stuck in the engine and nearly did them in.

It was big news on the radio for us, too, even tho not a bit local. No major injuries is always good news.

Big news everywhere. I've actually taken that exact flight before. A man from here in town was on it and called his dad while standing on the wing.
(The plane was already in the water when he was on the wing. He wasn't cutting up during the flight or something).

I think that this is a news story that has now been officially beaten into the ground.

I heard on one report that the pilot had experience as a glider pilot as well. Is this standard procedure for pilots? Or did having the right flying geek come in handy. Someone needs to buy that guy a beer.
