The Spirit takes a huge dump.......

Not shocked by The Spirit, I actually thought it would be lower...

That's a very huge haul for the movie business as a whole. Those numbers are good all the way down through the Top 10.

I'm sad for Despereaux. This was a fairy tale gem, and it's gotten lost in the holiday shuffle. And it was from a new entrant onto the family animation stage. I would have liked to see its creators take their place alongside the Pixars and Dreamworks group. I'll take Despereaux over something like Madagascar any day.

If you havah da chilren, I suggest you see it (either at the moobies or on DVD).

We saw Bolt. It was fun.

Wow, I thought the Spirit would clear about 25 million, just from hype over Sin City and 300.

I'm most excited to see the Wrestler and Gran Turino. I'll try and catch the Spirit this week, before it falls out of theatres.

The Spirit did 3.8 million on Christmas day.

The per screen average for The Wrestler and Gran Turino are huge.

I've seen 14 of the Top 25, but none of the Top 5 (Despereaux is the highest-ranked one I've seen so far). The holidays play havoc with my usual movie-going habits. But, like every year, January will be good for catching up.
