I'm going with JL/JLU. To me, it captured everything that was great about the DCU, building on and even surpassing the awesomeness that is the Batman and Superman series.

I went with Batman: TAS. It was damn good.

Having difficulty choosing between Batman: TAS and JL:U. Someone convince me of one over the other.

Crap, I should have included the Fleischer Superman cartoons, which ROCKED. Amazing animation.

Reading about these DC cartoons, it's pretty impressive how the Dini shows are so intertwined yet also stand alone on their own so well.
Kinda like what DC comics used to do.

If you include Fleischer you might as well include the Superman, Aquaman, Batman, Justice League and Teen Titans animated features from the 60's, the Superman, Batman and Shazam animated series of the 70's and 80's, Plastic Man, etc. None of it was on par with Fleischer or Timm, but they were there.

Between the Fleischer and Dini/Timm cartoons, a lot of bad Filmation sameness happened. While I might have a fondness for the Super Friends due to nostalgia, there's nothing about them that says "coolest".

I'd have voted for Justice League, then I remember I forgot the Fleischer cartoons in my own poll. Had I included them, they'd get my vote. AWESOME stuff.

JL/JLU easily gets my vote.
While the original Fleischer cartoons were perfect, they tend to become monotonous after a few in a row. I could probably watch an entire DVD of JL 'toons and come away still excited. The focus on character development and interesting plots make JL an easy win for me. Fleischer is still great, and the animation is perfect, but I can't honestly say they hold my interest like the Dini cartoons do; the stories just aren't that great despite the snazzy animation.
For me--
JL/JLU Batman Beyond Batman: TAS Fleischer Superman: TAS

JLI/JLU gets my vote mostly because as excellent as BTAS, STAS and Batman Beyond was, Timm and company were always improving as they went along and the final, best stuff they did was the JLU.

Batman Beyond was an amazing show and a ballsy move that worked.
Just sayin'.

It's a disgrace that the Fleischer Superman cartoons are not included. A disgrace.

I don't think the entire Justice Lords / Question / Luthor / storyline that climaxed at the end of JLU Season 2 has been matched in any superhero animated series.
