I don't know if Linda Carter delivered Academy Award winning performances on her Wonder Woman show...
The short thing can be overlooked as easily as Hugh Jackman's Wolverine tallness.
It all depends on the interpretation they want to go with.

I don't know about the short thing being so overlooked... I think her being statuesque makes as much sense as her character. However, if they did a GOOD Black Canary movie, short might help the story. I think it would be a great reason for her becoming such a great martial artist.

Not Othello, no, but she's not playing a Vulcan, either. The ability to show some emotion other than Dull Surprise (with thanks to whoever it was that brought that up in the Supeys) is kind of helpful, even in an action blockbuster.
