Did Batman win?

Great-looking book.

Stupid story.

I mean, come on -- The Shaper of Worlds? Batman brings his #1 villain, and the Hulk brings that albino Skrull-lookin' half-tractor freak?

Plus, I've never been convinced that the Hulk would even notice Batman boxing his ears to get out of a bear hug that should have killed Batman in the first half-second, anyway.

Pretty cut & dried, like Gozilla meets Bambi.......

Batman probably could figure out some way to beat the Hulk, but not in a head-to-head battle like the one portrayed in this book. Even as a child, I knew that the Hulk being affected by a Batman kick when he shrugs off missle fire was ridiculous.

When did that come out?

Lopez draws the Joker as Byrne thinks he draws the Joker.

I think that came out in the 70's. You can find the story in here-- http://www.amazon.com/dp/0871358581/?tag=imwan-20

Although that is apparently now out of print and ridiculously expensive. WTF?

This is one of many reasons I don't like Len Wein's work.

It's only $40. I wouldn't buy it for that, but neither would I jump to sell my copy. If it was $100 or more though, yes. :ohyes:

I have a copy too. I'm with Jeff on this one.

Maybe it will appreciate in value.

I really only have mine for the X-Men/Teen Titans thing, which I later bought in a single-issue reprint that takes up much less space.

When did that come out?

1981, not long after the second Superman/Spider-Man special. Like them it was tabloid-sized. As mentioned, the original is pricey, but it was reprinted in a regular size edition in the mid-1990s as well as in the previously-mentioned Marvel/DC "Crossover Classics" trade.

I like all the stories on some level in mine, mostly for old-school charm. Actually, the X-Men/Titans one is the only one I haven't read.

Wow. You've read all the crappy ones and left the best for last?

I used to have the HULK VS. BATMAN crossover in a pretty odd little handheld digest-sized edition. A lot of the panels looked out of whack to me at the time. They were, of course, since many of them had to be resized and split in half and such to fit the itty-bitty format.

I don't think I ever picked up that gold-bordered reprint pictured above. Looks like maybe I should have before it went out of print. =(

I have that one too, Frank. I also have the original tabloid sized edition.
